Johnson is also setting the stage to do this again, the next time someone is elected that Trump doesn’t like. Just don’t let them swear in, problem solved!

  2. So what will he do next time to avoid their release? Each iteration of this distraction game gets wilder than the last…

The thing is, I don’t even understand what all the “concern” is about. The closest we’ve got so far was to try to force a vote from the first level of government before it goes to the next level, before Trump gets (possible) veto power. I don’t see any reality this administration releases the Epstein files, ever, short of a massive leak from the estate or something. (They curiously seem to have a lot of stuff.)

They *know* that this will ruin a lot of billionaires, which realistically is the only class they care about. I see it as pointless to hope, right now. They’ll never cave to a Democrat-led demand to release them, either. The release itself is way too dangerous. They’ll shut down the government all the way to 2026 if they could.

Although that might be kinda interesting if they did…

The shutdown was planned and is just part of them turning up the heat. It’s only going to get worse from here.

This title is misleading. The swearing in of Grijalva is the only thing stopping the floor vote to release the files from happening. She can still be sworn in during a shutdown and congress still convenes during shutdowns.

  6. It’s so wild to be that the republican base isn’t putting pressure on their reps to release the Trump-Epstein files. Do they like pedos?

  7. can we all start yelling for dems: No re-opening until the UNREDACTED files are released. Period.

Trump wants to flex with funding, so lets flex and demand our Dem reps do the same.

Can someone like Massie just say f- it and release the files, consequences be damned?

True. Between Epstein and Trump we are in a fine kettle of fish. Oh well, the USA seems hard to kill. Sorry Putin

  10. This is the entire reason. All the votes were accounted for to release the files but the GOP won’t swear in the congresswoman.

    Shameful.

Surprise, government doesn’t need to be open for those files to drop. It’ll only give people more time to go over them.

  12. Apparently they can simply refuse to swear in and to seat anybody they don’t want to. There doesn’t appear to be any recourse against that.

The whole point of it all is to prevent the Epstein files from ever being released while attempting to take over America, the rich will be ok under a regime change, Epstein files implicates the richest of the rich from all around the world. That’s why we have an idiot as president, trump is the scape goat in the grand scheme of things, he is just the public face for Epstein files, this goes so much deeper involving people with much more influence than trump, hence the delay of the files being released. It’s all going good coz it will neeeever be released :3 too many powerful images will be torn down. Good luck America

Why can’t Trump see that releasing the snuff film he stars in will only galvanize the support of his base?

  16. Aggravating-Will-245 on

He can’t release the files people, he even as the president can’t do it. Stop blaming the wrong people for this, just because you don’t like them. It’s a courts decision, Trump cannot release them. Check the history of the judge that is holding them back as well.

  17. The first order of business when re opened should be the files. I won’t hold my breath.
