Seems like using how someone looks as an immigrant identifier is working swimmingly.

I mean, it’s not like they’re targeting people because of their skin color. They’re doing their due diligence before arresting anybody /s

soon, we’ll all get the tattoos to identify us…

We should think of a way to give the ones here legally a way to identify themselves like maybe a high visibility shape like a star or something. We should make it easy to tell who has their papers so these mistakes don’t happen. And perhaps we should have them live in the same districts so they can be more comfortable. It isn’t a final solution or anything but a start.

I’m surprised he got released at all, twice especially. Seems like this administration’s official policy is to just deport/imprison everybody they catch, and double down when they’ve made a mistake.

They are going around demanding people’s papers and are shocked they get compared to the gestapo.

Well he’s going to lose because he wasn’t arrested. He was detained during workplace raids, which is totally legal. First time he sat in the back of a police car while they investigated people’s paperwork – second time he waited on the job site for 20 mins while they completed the investigation –
“Note that a raid may take several hours, and if employees have any issues that may need to be addressed, like a medical or family issue, tell the agents and ask for their cooperation in accommodating the employee’s needs.”
It’s not simply that a person is detained, they aren’t playing nice the way (for example) Trump was treated when he had committed hundreds of millions of dollars in fraud. ICE is quite brutal. They treat complete strangers with the kind of violence which would get any of us doing the same convicted for assault and battery and sued for damages.
The arrogance of these goons is telling.
Reports are they are not even bothering to ask individuals for identity, they are not even vetting these arrests. They take whomever they want into custody in a violent manner, treat them all rudely and don’t release the citizens until hours later, even into the next day.
Their choice of victims is also telling: for example a Russian illegal immigrant with blue eyes and blonde hair they would rush by to grab a darker skinned American citizen, wrestle the frightened citizen to the ground and chain them at the wrists. They are just acting out the bigotry and prejudices of your typical MAGA orc, and we are paying them gobs of money to do it. The whole thing is completely disgusting.
This is seriously dangerous and wrong.

They should also attempt to sue the agents personally.

The new preferred nomenclature for these is Kavanaugh Stops since he is the SCOTUS judge that defended them as brief inconveniences.

This is the proper civil disobedience strategy. Rather than protesting, you take US Citizens that “look like illegal aliens” and keep putting them in the very places ICE keeps targeting – do everything you can to match the profile. Document the arrest, sue, and _then do it again. Over and over and over_. Spoil ICE’s game, their conviction stats, waste their time.
Do this in massive numbers and for long enough and this one sick program will be over, forever.
So you think I’m an illegal alien? I’m not required to speak English, carry papers, and I’m not breaking any laws.
Are you sure?
