The government shutdown is hindering the work of the White House in one of its most vital and time-consuming areas: childish trolling.

Not only are hundreds of thousands of federal workers being furloughed because of a lapse in congressional funding—which the ruling GOP is insisting is the fault of the Democrats—the shutdown also seems to be impeding the White House press team’s ability to fire off edgelord memes and try-hard clapbacks to the media.

  2. Cool. Now is the perfect time to leak all the Epstein content. Imagine the GOP being incapable of spin

  3. 45% of shutdown days in the entire US history happened with Trump sitting as president.

The percentage will be increasing due to the current shutdown.

I was wondering why there were fewer bots: they didn’t leave themselves funding for them. A government of morons, all the way to the core.

  5. A little off-topic but did you guys see yesterday in the briefing room they were just playing the racist AI Hakeem Jeffries clip and repeat blasted into the speakers while the WH Press Pool was in there getting ready?

Gotta give the Democrats credit here, they don’t control the house, senate and the Whitehouse and yet, somehow, they managed to shut down the government.

  7. Trump’s 2013 remarks during appearances on Fox & Friends, Trump criticized President Barack Obama’s leadership, saying:

“A shutdown falls on the President’s lack of leadership. He can’t even control his party and get people together in a room. A shutdown means the President is weak”.

He also stated that a shutdown would be “a tremendously negative mark on the President of the United States. He’s the one that has to get people together”.

Trump also said, “The problems start from the top and have to get solved from the top. The president is the leader, and he’s got to get everybody in a room and he’s got to lead”.

  8. Republicans (and lowkey, probably many Democrats) want to end entitlements to save their rich donors money. Shutting down the government is a feature, not a bug.

    * **33 years,** that’s the age difference between her and her husband.
    * They married when **she was 26yo and he was 59yo**. They got engaged the year before.
    * They were dating for several years before that.
    * She also birthed a baby of him on July 10, 2024.
    * When the baby turns 18yo, the dad might be 77yo, if he’s able to survive next to this evil woman for that long.

She had the baby 6 months before they got married.

    The party of christian values.

No it hasn’t, they’re posting nonstop on Instagram still. It’s maddeningly mind numbing.

Damn ig Karoline Leavitt is going to have to go back to her home in hell for a bit until this all blows over

  13. So that’s why there are very few bots on Insta today. It would be hilarious if it wasn’t so soul-crushingly sad.

Why can’t Congress take this opportunity to defund ICE and support for the ongoing federal police-state being created based on lies and misinformation?

  15. I’m convinced that the federal government has effectively begun the process of catastrophic system collapse and will never reopen. And this is what the folks behind Trump really wanted all along, to press the self destruct button.

We’re going to wake up one day very soon and realize the federal government is no longer a thing, and all we have is our state and local governments. No secessions, no civil wars, no debates even, just a day when we’re like oh shit everyone in DC gave up and went home. The union is done. What do we do now.
