  1. This reminds me of a stop hitting yourself, stop hitting yourself situation.

    Pretty sickening.

  2. The process for Hatch Act violations is that it goes to a couple different organizations controlled by the president who determine whether a violation occurred and recommend disciplinary action.

*A recommendation the president is under no obligation to follow.*

This process has literally played out under Trump, with those organizations verifying that a Hatch Act violation did occur and Trump saying “cool but it was in my favor so no punishment”. He can just unilaterally shut it down, and has, repeatedly.

It’s entirely toothless. It could potentially have teeth if Trump is ever not in office, but it simply does nothing against his regime of open corruption.

I’m CERTAIN they’ll get right on that, Dems.

Please stop playing the game like things are normal and Democracy is still fundamentally intact. It’s not.

  4. Funny how the party that screams “law and order” always seems allergic to following the law themselves.

  5. Trump’s 2013 remarks during appearances on Fox & Friends, Trump criticized President Barack Obama’s leadership, saying:

“A shutdown falls on the President’s lack of leadership. He can’t even control his party and get people together in a room. A shutdown means the President is weak”.

He also stated that a shutdown would be “a tremendously negative mark on the President of the United States. He’s the one that has to get people together”.

Trump also said, “The problems start from the top and have to get solved from the top. The president is the leader, and he’s got to get everybody in a room and he’s got to lead”.

Beyond the Hatch Act issues, the irony of republicans blaming democrats when there hasnt been a single appropriation passed under the current administration. Last year the government was funded by a year long CR after multiple short term CRs. Republicans haven’t been able to pass an appropriations bill in over a year and yet blame democrats.

Does anything matter at this point? He does whatever he wants and gets away with it. *sigh*

Complaining about a Hatch Act violation to an agency run by the people violating the Hatch Act is peak Democrat right now. Playing by the rules in their polos and khakis while the other side is living out Mad Max.
