  1. I look forward to some group hacking Truth Social and leaking every single DM between these idiots.

  2. Trump ran on revenge and retribution so why are we still questioning whether Trump truly wants to punish his political enemies?

  3. HornySocrates on

This is so god damned funny to me, like from a logistical perspective. By saying it was meant to be a DM, they’re saying that Trump communicates with his staff via Truth Social DM. So you’re telling me basically that all the members of the Trump administration have to monitor their truth social inboxes in case they get a furious 2am missive while Daddy Trump is crapping out his McDonald’s dinner? And like respond it it? SHE WAS HIS PERSONAL LAWYER they’ve worked together for like a decade, he doesn’t have her cell? Incredible, this is the crew steering the ship and people still wonder whether it’s going to sail into the rocks.

  4. This has to get dismissed right? As much as it would be a great trial to have, because of how weak the case is. I just dont see a judge looking at this evidence and not dismissing it.

  5. Are they admitting they use Truth Social for official Presidential communications? Do all the laws and regulations related to preservation of those records apply? Seems like they have opened up something they might regret

  6. The man spouts whatever insane bullshit pops into his head every day. The contents of his private messages aren’t going to change the cult member’s minds. Great for Comey’s defense team, though.

this guy was selling state secrets to the saudis from his bathroom. He is an old boomer fool whose recklessness has set us back for decades. He doesnt even know the difference between a regular post and a DM

Accident on purpose probably. This wouldn’t be the first time his administration has weaponized their own incompetence.

In his first term, several of Trumps aides had their notes captured on camera because they were too dim to cover them as they walked outside.

John Bolton intentionally did this by having a note reading something like “5k troops to Columbia?” only partly concealed on the top sheet of a legal pad where cameras could see it

Pretty sure that was his way of saber rattling without it looking like saber rattling.

  9. “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn’t lose any voters, OK? It’s like, incredible.” — doing crime on live television, with zero accountability/consequence.

  10. The quickest way to get it out there would be to send it to Pete Hegseth on Signal Chat App

    >Comey pleaded not guilty to lying to Congress and obstruction in his first court appearance on the charges Wednesday. A trial date is tentatively scheduled to begin January 5, 2026, but Comey’s attorneys are expected to try to have the case thrown out altogether, citing Trump’s “vindictive” prosecution.

    >Trump’s message to Bondi is likely to be at the heart of that motion, showing the judge overseeing that case that the president directed the nation’s top law enforcement official to investigate a target he labeled “guilty” before any charges were brought against him.

“Hey, that message was supposed to be private! You can’t stop us from committing crimes that you aren’t supposed to know about!”

-Trump Admin, probably (SCOTUS will agree 6-3, with the Ghost of the Rule of Law abstaining)

  12. Private or public message it’s still an abuse of power. For a man who cried a lot about Biden weaponizing the DOJ, Trump is real guilty in turning the FBI and DOJ into his pets.

  13. Historical_Bend_2629 on

It isn’t some big gotcha. The administration is pretty open about unlawfully using the DOJ and the DHS to attack people who disagree with this administration. Apparently my 85 year old mother who believes in human rights and the constitution is Antifa.

  14. Boy, if I were a foreign intelligence agent, I’d be working my ass off trying to gain illicit access to Truth Social given this. If Trump is sending DMs to his toadies through that site, it would be a fucking goldmine for spies.

  15. Absolute classic self own.

    What a 🤡. Seriously.

Holy fuck, what a way to run a country.

  16. DharmaKarmaBrahma on

That not only makes it treason, it makes it a conspiracy to commit treason.

Treason Rico Case is what we need here.

  17. Like when the chat about bombing Yemen was supposed to be only for trump insiders and not for journalists.

Americans didn’t just elect fascists to run the government in 2024. They elected *idiot* fascists.

Which perhaps is a silver lining, as with competent fascists there would be no hope, but with idiots there is a chance to eventually get enough people to turn against them.

  18. HuTaosTwinTails on

That doesn’t fucking make it okay. It is still illegal. Stop letting these traitors commit treason and destroy the country in broad daylight.

  19. This Admin is just full of holes and leaking everywhere. They’re competent at cruelty, but incompetent at everything else.

  20. CranberrySchnapps on

    > Donald Trump’s Truth Social post urging Attorney General Pam Bondi to prosecute his perceived political enemies without “delay” was intended to be a private message, according to administration officials.

First off, just because it was supposed to be a private message doesn’t reduce how gross of an abuse of power the order/suggestion was.

Secondly, how incompetent and/or demented does one have to be to mix up private messages with posting to social media? Tactically, Trump just soured his entire plan for retribution (using DOJ).

  21. If it had been a DM it would still be fantastically stupid. In fact I’m trying to decide whether it would be *more* stupid. Don’t they have some kind of encryption for their crime? If they had failed just a bit less stupidly to keep it secret, it would’ve been secret to the general public but not to foreign intelligence agencies. That would be a big problem, in a government capable of shame or subject to laws.

  22. This article right here is why the charges should immediately be dropped. They have no case. and throw bondi in jail

  23. Odd they’d come straight out and admit that it was supposed to be breaking the law, but okay.

  24. i_am_a_real_boy__ on

This appears to be a misleading headline.

The WSJ article is paywalled, but it doesn’t look like the White House has admitted to anything. The souces are unnamed.

  25. MAGA: Hilary had a private server,
trump: has an entire app to post late night ramblings as official orders to his minions.

  26. Smiles-Edgeworth on

Shoutout to all the MAGA cultists who argued with me for days that he posted that on purpose as a simultaneous hilarious trolling joke but also 100% serious public warning to his enemies

  27. Discovery is going to be a bitch.

Comey’s lawyers should be able to subpoena truth social for all relevant private messages right?
