  1. This is the most publicly insecure man we’ve ever seen since….well, Elon Musk, I guess.

  2. After Trump realizes he can also order *the entire US military* to watch his speech, he’s going to find a quick way to monetize it.

Fucking knew this whole thing as about him getting attention. What a big, mean, strong, respectable man he is! WOW! We’re all really impressed down here!

  4. The solution will be that the company clerks pass a “sign in sheet” around every platoon formation.

Once they get the signatures, the clerks will say, “Mission Accomplished” and no one will ever hear of this again.

Jesus fucking Christ. I work with a shitload of vets and they are all so incredibly embarrassed. Pete is an abominable disgrace to the office of SecDef.

  6. Alright soldiers. This is a classic case on how you detect psychological weaknesses in others. Observe the overcompensatory gestures, words, and mannerisms, the internal flailing about trying desperately to mask their insecurities and imposter syndrome manifestations that they can never shake off. That is how you know you’re dealing with a non-entity, and the time to fight back is better sooner than later.

  7. The guy has no charisma and nothing worthwhile to say, except that he demands unearned respect from all the people just doing their jobs every day.

Just what you’d expect when you appoint an ass-kissing, narcissist alcoholic to run a nation’s military.

Watch how the use of FAFO is now officially over because it is now too cringe.

so he thinks that speech was good? He doesn’t know that he looked like a cring jack ass?

  10. silentwind262 on

Well, that’s a good way to have tens of thousands of junior enlisted folks mocking him on a daily basis.

  11. Actual mass indoctrination sessions.

    By a drunken dumbass.

It could be a scene in Idiocracy, if it only had wit.

How many times do you think he’s watched his own speech?

How many times has he watched it while wearing pants?

  13. I was in the military for 25 years. This will be the most pencil whipped “training” completed since pencils were invented.

A speech is not policy. There’s no legal orders being given. It’ll be played on loop on some internal TV channel and everyone will say they saw it.

Imagine having a hazardous duty job, where the majority get their actual orders from an NCO, and giving a shit about this speech…

Nothing about this speech is tough. The priority seems to be “looking good” and accepting literal hazing, which no one wants.

  14. HA! Destined route to mockery. As a former US Army infantryman, that speech would get razed.

This is going to work so well! I think he should make all service members watch every press conference, every address to his subordinates and, hell, every PowerPoint he gives. That will make them love him sooo much!

It’s extremely dangerous for an alcoholic to detox without medical supervision.

It reminds me of corporate America.. the higher ups are often not the brightest of the bunch..

  18. This smells like propaganda. Pete Hegseth is trying to indoctrinate military personally with his ideology. Not cool at all

  19. As a former service member let me assure him the mandatory videos were always well received and paid very close attention to. :I

  20. He’s… helping us? on purpose? My idea to undermine him was to make sure everybody saw the video. If he’s making it mandatory… ny work is done!

  21. This is what people do when they know theyre in way over their heads with their job

The second you start demanding everyone respect you and making a big show of your “authority” and how tough you are–everyone knows you’re weak and you have no business commanding them

I guarantee like 80-90% of the military brass think hes an absolute fucking clown and Hegseth feels that every single day

And i love that for him lol

  22. Honestly, this is the best shot at breaking the fever. Getting folks exposed to the ridiculousness without the fox news filter. All of the generals walked out of there thinking this was an embarrassment, and it’ll be good for the rank and file to see that, too. Just as I have *some* hope that these national guardsmen being forced to take time away from their jobs and families to see that….blue cities are NOT war zones and they’re wasting their time. Best case scenario they go home and say “yeah, we’ve been lied to, I wonder what else they’re lying about?”
