As with an endless list of fundamental misunderstandings about how shit actually works, and the idiotic pandering and campaigning aside, nominations for 2025 closed on Jan 31, 2025. (Although it should be noted that the Nobel Committee can decide at anytime to give it to whoever they choose.)

Maybe I just haven’t followed it very carefully, but I don’t recall the Peace Prize ever being something that people competed for. People got nominated and then a committee in Norway quietly chose someone to give the award to, and that was it. No campaigning. No sour grapes among those not selected. Maybe a few people took issue with the winner (like with Kissinger,) but leave it to Donald Trump to turn into a pageant.
