There’s only one way this is gonna get better – it’s gotta hurt everyone. All the Magats and all the people who “dont pay attention to politics”, ie 40% of our country. It needs to hit everyone hard enough to shake this country out of whatever the fuck stupor its in and take the country back. If it’s too comfortable, it’ll continue. As Churchill said, Americans can always be counted on to do the right thing once every other option is exhausted.

  2. Man, what the actual hell? Trump’s turning a shutdown into his personal purge party—mass firing federal workers like they’re yesterday’s trash, all to bully Dems into caving on funding. Even Collins is calling it a disaster! Unions are suing, experts say it’s illegal, but nah, the GOP’s just flexing that Project 2025 muscle to gut the government.

This isn’t governance; it’s a tantrum that screws real people. Insane.

  3. This is all by Republican design. The top priority of course is to eliminate environmental regulations. Republicans would be all but extinct without campaign contributions from the fossil fuel industry and access to their think tanks. That’s why their unamerican proposal to do permanent damage to affordable healthcare for short term government funding.

Let’s be real clear about this situation: He could have fired these people anytime before the shutdown. Oh, and come to think of it, he was *doing exactly that*. These people being fired is not because of the shutdown; it’s part and parcel of Project 2025’s stated and well-established plans.

    Anyhow, release the Epstein files.

I am a state government employee that works with a federal government employee.

We both are married, 4 kids, stay at home wife.

It is very discouraging to watch him suffer through this and not get his paycheck that he relies on.

What is really interesting to me, the day he didn’t get a paycheck, the state government gave us a 13k pay raise.

Susan Collins can take her concern and shove it if shes gonna do jack all about it.

This is a slow motion train wreck orchestrated by Grindr Mike and the Orange Pedo. They will own this shutdown.

  8. Democrats should state they won’t vote for any reopening bill that doesn’t fully restore these employees.

  9. No one exemplifies the out of touch, out to lunch career politicians who couldn’t understand the dangers Trump presented more than Susan “I believe the president has learned from this case” Collins.

Donnie Dipshit and the Reich are only a symptom of the problem, the REA:L problem is the 77 Million that voted for this. Direct all your anger and rage at them, you know who they are, everyone does

  11. Maine yall so far have 2 great candidates I’ve heard of running in the primary to get the opportunity to challenge her.

  12. Chickenshit Collins has the power to tell Trump he doesn’t get her votes unless he backs off. But no. She continue to give him the procedural votes he needs then get self-righteous about voting against something. She’s toast in the next election.

  13. Oh shit! Look out guys! Susan Collin’s is “strongly opposed” to the layoffs. What a brave woman. 🙄

  14. Gee, how many people did the previous Trump administration fire during shutdowns? I cannot find any.

  15. It can all end. Tonight. All of it. Ask McCarthy how long it took once Congress was done with his shit.

  16. Where the hell have all these rethuglicans been? Not like he didn’t say this is what he was going to do. Jesus, will no one get a spine and gather all your balls and ovaries together and stop all this bull shit.

Oh no! He did exactly what he said he said he was going to do!

I’m shocked and have no plan for this completely foreseeable outcome!

  18. This isn’t a thing the Executive can actually legally do. This seems like it should be a more stressed facet to this discussion.

  19. This shit was going to happen anyways. That might have just sped things up to blame it on the shutdown / democrats.

Whenever I see a picture of Susan Collin’s I hear her saying “I’m very concerned.”
