  1. Not holding my breathe for when something the GOP did has backfir*ed* and they faced consequences of their poor decisions against the people.

  2. When a party control the White House, Senate, House, and Judicial System, it is a bad look for them to keep the government shutdown.

  3. No matter what, Johnson is out of a job very soon. More and more Republicans are getting yelled at by the people that put them in office. The GOP is a cluster-fuck to the n^(th) degree. They are hurting the people that voted for them but yet they don’t care. This is why the Republicans are going to get their collective asses kicked in the next election. They don’t represent the people that put them in office any more and the people know it and are getting very tired of their bullshit!

  4. Every time the GOP shuts down the house with whatever brinksmanship goal of the day is in mind: They relearn the lesson that while a full on 30% of the country that makes up their base is completely stupid, the rest of the country is far less so.

The lies the Reich is spewing are so obvious that it seems likely this’ll backfire more than most.

For it to backfire, there need to be consequences, but their voting base is flooded with propaganda and can’t figure out that it is propaganda. This will not change until you make the propaganda outlets accountable for their actions.

It is backfiring? So the House is actually doing something to benefit society instead of their plan to do nothing good?

Has it? Epstein files ain’t coming anytime soon, they’re firing people during the shutdown, they’ve prevented a Democrat from being sworn in….please tell me how any of this is ‘backfiring’ when they haven’t faced a single consequence?

  8. Is it?

I feel like a lot of these headlines are designed to just calm people down and feel like the system is self correcting.

But it’s not. There’s no backfire.

What about the many Bible quotes about paying workers their daily wages and not withholding payment?

  10. Isn’t it possible Johnson won’t serve a republican discharge petition? What’s the likelihood of that happening, anyone?

  11. If your entire premise of politics is “conservatism”, government shutdowns are a good thing for you. All of the things they believe in are deemed essential and everything else is stopped.
