  1. Excellent. Good for Australia.

    I know that many feel that the right to free speech is the highest good. I don’t feel this way. I believe that decency and civility are far more important. People who spew hate shouldn’t be tolerated.

    I don’t see this as being hypocritical; I see it as simply raising the bar on how people should behave.

    My mother says she likes Candace Owens because she became successful “against all odds” and she says she’s sure Charlie Kirk “had a good heart”. What do I say to that?

  7. If the US can bar someone from entering the country over that person’s social media posts, Australia can do the same for what a person espouses.

    Frankly any civilized country should deny entry to anyone associated with MAGA for being national security threats. They’ve certainly proved that in the US.

    Immigration Minister Tony Burke had the most savage burn I’ve ever heard from the Australian government on the subject at the time of the visa cancellation.

    The exact quote was “Australia’s national interest is best served when Candace Owens is somewhere else”.
