I know someone who worked for a State legislature. The swearing in ceremony was purely for pictures and the actual oath that Senators were required to take was a signed document that was notarized. Is this the same thing for Congress?

Important to note: Even if she is confirmed and votes yes, that doesn’t mean that the Epstein Files will be released. They have enough votes to *force* a vote on it. Essentially, Democrats want to show the American people that Republicans are covering up for pedophiles. It still needs be voted on by the House and Senate. It would likely be rejected by the Republican House and never make it to the Senate.
Maybe he’s waiting until after Virginia Guiffre’s book is released. Then he’ll take less heat for doing it.

This is how they operate: a few swing district republicans are given permission to support the losing side. But if it comes down to their vote, they have to find a way to shift. Look at Murkowski in the senate, she is the one assigned to question the passing of guaranteed votes. Unless of course it’s *her vote* that can narrowly pass the policy.
