  1. Ya, of course you’re gonna sue if a duly elected representative can’t represent the people they were elected by.

  2. Yes, that’s precisely why Grindr Gary there (along with the rest of the Fourth Reich) is stalling.

Any Dem that voted to confirm any of the cabinet members needs to be voted out by the people. They certainly weren’t even qualified for their jobs, and it’s perfectly fine for Repubs to absolutely stonewall anything Dems do .

so now their hill to die on is the budget?

It just seemed logical to me that Arizona sue over not getting their fair representation.

That, or stop all federal withholding from Arizonans.

We literally exist as a nation because of this.

Is there a gas leak in here? Marge: The Gathering is making more sense than Johnson, and she’s got knives out.

I kinda wanna see where it goes, but I’m a little more interested to see if they can just be normal.

  6. That assessment is spot-on. It’s all about protecting their pedo trump. Isn’t America great under the GOP?

  7. I’m not super versed in the process, but whether there is a reason or not….the woman has been elected and needs to be sworn in. The fact that he can just choose not to is mind boggling. How has it taken this long for an attorney to step in?

I know someone who worked for a State legislature. The swearing in ceremony was purely for pictures and the actual oath that Senators were required to take was a signed document that was notarized. Is this the same thing for Congress?

  9. Since July 3, the House has only been in session for 20 days (out of more than 100 calendar days).

I’m not sure what the most effective remedy is, but I do know it’s a national disgrace.

  10. For someone who bullshits on about god and jesus so much, you’d think hed do a better job about not making this so obvious

Important to note: Even if she is confirmed and votes yes, that doesn’t mean that the Epstein Files will be released. They have enough votes to *force* a vote on it. Essentially, Democrats want to show the American people that Republicans are covering up for pedophiles. It still needs be voted on by the House and Senate. It would likely be rejected by the Republican House and never make it to the Senate.

Maybe he’s waiting until after Virginia Guiffre’s book is released. Then he’ll take less heat for doing it.

  13. In the not too distant future: Johnson’s taxpayer funded lawyer tells the court “this has nothing to do with Epstein,” to which the judge replies, “Okey-doke. Case dismissed.”

  14. All she needs to do is say that she is against releasing the epstein files.

Once Johnson hears that, he will swear her in over Zoom.

They’re stalling the release because what they want to obscure is that the Epstein “business model” is still alive and well, functioning in the shadows. (my opinion)

  16. At first I agreed with Mike Johnson, but when Adelita Grijalva said that she, like Jimmy Patronis and Randy Fine on April 2nd had family and supporters eager to be present for her swearing in, I thought proceed forward. /s

  17. I’m betting Mike Johnson is also in the Epstein Files. I’m nearly sure most of the old weirdos currently in office are, or they wouldn’t be trying so desperately to keep them hidden. Trump and his fagina neck can’t possibly be the only reason they are stalling.

Didn’t they change the threshold to call for a vote for a new speaker to one petitioner? Can’t the democrats just daily call for a vote for a new speaker of the house and force that vote?

  19. This is getting extremely tiresome.

At this point it’s 100% obvious he’s terrified of the Epstein vote and they’re only using this shutdown as an excuse to prolong it in hopes of negotiating for votes against releasing it.

This should be the mass revolting time for Republican voters who frothed about the government elites protecting pedos for the last 6 years but lmao that’d require them to have principles beyond racism and bigotry.

  20. “Yeah we totally aren’t preventing her from taking her seat its just a scheduling thing bro”

    “Well then schedule it”

    “…. no”

  21. Equivalent-Excuse-80 on

Doubtful. I remain highly confident the GOP will conveniently lose one of their own votes to release the files.

This is how they operate: a few swing district republicans are given permission to support the losing side. But if it comes down to their vote, they have to find a way to shift. Look at Murkowski in the senate, she is the one assigned to question the passing of guaranteed votes. Unless of course it’s *her vote* that can narrowly pass the policy. In which case she votes with the party but wrings her hands about how others should fight her fight.

The Republicans will *never* release the files.its time to understand this reality.

They are gonna do some really weird illegal shit to prevent this vote from ever happening.

Guaranteed they’re frantically trying to seal documents so it doesn’t matter what vote happens.

Things are gearing up and getting weird

  23. Fuck off with this “Threat” bullshit . Do it or shut the fuck up .. Your GD adults, not some fucking HS shit telling somebody their going to get it after school. Shit or get off the pot . I’m sick and tired of this talk talk talk ..

Hes cooked. He knows it. He wears his internal emotions on his face regardless of his words.

  25. Don’t see Congress coming back in any time soon: military gets paid early (or first), and everyone else falls behind. Dictatorships and fascism always pays military first, otherwise their reign doesn’t last long.

  26. That’s the exact reason. Trump is panicked and doing his best to start a civil war. The frogs in the PNW are saving us.
Johnson will have to make a choice soon. Because no matter the power he thinks Trump holds, the revolting acts described in the Epstein files will end Trump.

  27. LLCoolJim_2020 on

Let’s stop the threats of legal action, and start the legal actions. Can’t do anything about Trump, but everyone who carries out his illegal orders can be prosecuted.

  28. > “This really has not been done before, and the case law in general is with us on this issue,” Mayes told CNN. “So we would be saying to a judge we’d like a declaratory judgment that says the speaker has to seat Adelita Grijalva, he has to swear her in. And if he doesn’t, then he’ll be violating our rights as Arizonans, and he’ll be violating the Constitution.”

ahhh dems and their strongly worded statements. so cute 🥰

here’s an idea how about we try: no warnings and just do it? tf???
