Incredible, since the last No Kimgs was the larrgest in US hostory.
Still, it’s not enough. There should be a No Kings weekly. The Capitol needs to be surrounded and protested day and night. Same with Rep’s offices, their homes, SCOTUS. They need to be shown that they serve the people. And the people can decide their fates.
I’m ready for people to care. I’ve been waiting for years. I don’t think we should pin all our hopes on No Kings 2 being big enough to shift the political landscape.
But at least I can hope the media will pay more attention this time and not underestimate the turnout like they did for the first No Kings.
What don’t they “melt down” about? MAGA is in a perpetual state of rage, it’s all they know to do.
Seriously, everyone needs to turn out for this. Yes, protests alone don’t make change, but they’re important as a show of force and also a way to connect with others and feel inspired to keep going. If there isn’t one in your town, there will be one not too far away. So show up, and then keep doing the work of actually organizing.

Unless these protests actually dig in for a long haul, they aren’t going to accomplish anything. If ignoring the protest is as easy as simply waiting out it’s 24 hour event window, then it is not going to have any effect on this regime. A *proper* protest is when the group plants themselves down and doesn’t leave until they get what they want. And they can’t just be staged at safe locations where the local government *already agrees with them.* They have to stage these in locations where such a protest will *actually* oppose those around them and obstruct regular operations.
And I assure you, MAGA is *not* melting down over this.
