    >In a Tuesday interview on CNN’s “The Source,” Sheehy was asked about the funding cuts, which were announced by the Department of Energy earlier this month. The senator dodged the question entirely, instead linking the DOE’s decision to the ongoing government shutdown, for which he blamed Democrats.

    >“As I said, we want the government to be open,” he told journalist Kaitlan Collins. “You should be saying this to Chuck Schumer, who’s closing the government down. I‘m agreeing we should have the government open right now. This is an unnecessary shutdown.”

    >When Collins asked if the Trump administration’s funding cuts would hurt Montana overall, Sheehy rattled off a laundry list of services ― including air traffic controllers and cattle shipping ― that have been impacted by the shutdown, now in its third week.

    >“That’s why we’ve voted eight times to reopen the government, but we’ve not been supported by our friends across the aisle,” he said, alluding to Democrats.

    >Collins, however, once again seemed undeterred. When she pointed out that Energy Secretary Chris Wright had specifically told her in an Oct. 2 interview that the canceled grant had nothing to do with the shutdown, Sheehy appeared caught off-guard.

    >After a few seconds of uncomfortable silence, he replied, “Well, it’s unfortunate we’re still shut down. We shouldn’t be.”

Our AG brought a list of insults to a hearing and she was more prepared than most maga politicians are

  3. *Womp womp*.

The people of Montana are all-in on Dear Leader, no matter what harm he does to them.

  4. It’s such an easy thing to cut though. He could have gone off on how much of a waste of money “hydrogen” is and just glossed over the “jobs” part. Even many on the “left” know what a waste hydrogen is. There is no “hydrogen economy.” It’s a stupid, wasteful way to move energy around.

If trump says it’s good, then it is. Something, something government shutdown, democrats.

  6. Man I got into the wrong career. Congress people get asked about question G and answers about question 76CZ

  7. hahahah “Well it’s unfortunate the government is still shut down”! He can’t even face the music and just resorts to deflecting to a problem the current administration is causing.

  8. This entire post reeks of “controlled opposition” empathy farming.

This official refuses to answer a direct question affecting his constituents while defaulting to rhetorical government shutdown talking points.

He’s not a representative at this point. He’s a paid plant using an elected office to stifle the United State’s reputation and goodwill. It’s insidious.

Clearly that wasn’t in the talking points he was given.
These people are unable to think for themselves or even read the legislation and decisions that appear on their desks.

  10. As a Vet, he insults all Vets, Seal or no Seal. These Hollywood seals are after a buck and public career. Siding with openly nazis to close your hospitals, defund your schools, raise energy prices and attack anyone with a voice. This is a Christian value? Any of this? Don’t invite me to your church if it is.

  11. When reality differs from their party-issued talking points, they never change their minds. They just power through with the part-issued talking points.

  12. I’d love to see a conservative make an argument that isn’t disingenuous. Just once, please.

  13. All he had was his pre-programmed response of “well, it’s a shame the government is still shut down”.

  14. Collins should be handling all these interviews on CNN only one I have seen push and push these Republican losers and she never gets emotional or flustered

America! Please don’t act suprised! Whole world has seen it for years! Just the curtain gets removed right now! I hope that normal thinking people get their country back!

I hate it when my state makes the news because it’s never good.

Sheehy is a fucking joke and so are you if you voted for him.

  17. Considering that the GOP has control of the house, the senate and the presidency, I find it both hilarious and horrifying that they can easily pass the lie that it’s the Democrats fault that things are shutdown.

It would be the equivalent of a majority government here in Canada not being able to pass a budget bill because of internal dissent, and then blaming the opposition and other parties for not supporting them. It would be seen as completely ridiculous.

  18. Imagine if only stuff like this mattered. But it makes no difference at all. Just piss in the wind.

  19. You know what I find crazy is that these shenanigans will someday come to an end. Do these senators and representatives not understand that?
