  1. From reporter Paul Blumenthal:

The Supreme Court’s conservative justices appeared likely to strip Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act of all power to protect against racially discriminatory redistricting during arguments in the case of Louisiana v. Callais on Wednesday.

Such a decision could have monumental consequences for the future of Black political representation across the South, and potentially enable Republican legislatures to redraw maps in a way that helps bring to fruition President Donald Trump’s goal of one-party rule in Washington.

I didn’t think I would live to see America fall apart like this right in front of me.

    God help us all.

You need a corrupt president and Supreme Court justices to form a corrupt authoritarian government.

Removing Trump isn’t enough. All crooked justices must be impeached too.

  4. Let me guess, 6-3? So much for following established law and being nonpolitical. If the country can last that long, maybe we can get it back in 50-100 years. Too bad I won’t get to see it.

The trajectory began more than a decade ago. This is the final blow; just like they did with Roe, except that trajectory was far slower with ups and downs. Next comes Miranda and Mapp.

Only while it works in their favor. If it breaks the other way they’ll put a stop to it

Supreme Court of fuckery, it’s pathetic the way they mock our justice system with all the dirty deeds they always secretly wanted to do. How the hell did people manage to organize full on flash dancing mobs but we can’t orchestrate a mob to take back our country?

  8. At least we have a straightforward, honest headline. Usually, it’s some clickbait bullshit like “you’ll never believe what the Supreme Court might do next!”

Most honest title I have seen about SCOUTS in a while. They are foaming at the mouth to get rid of the Voting Rights Act and they are so willing to let Republicans to rig every election in the future.

It’s over folks. We are no longer a nation of laws. That means no accountability, graft, treason, lying and severe oppression. Congratulations to all that voted for these asshats. Eventually, you will be affected. Oy dark times indeed.

They are already purging black politicians. This will cement it and a near insurmountable Republican majority in the House.

This has been obvious for years. The Nazis have been playing the long game, packing all the courts, playing dirty.
Dems were too busy “going high” to figure out what to do about it.
    And now, here we are.

  13. Is the Supreme Court really saying “we dont need this law anymore?” These originalist judges are really going to let a law “expire” without Congress making it expire? Not even a declaration of unconstitutional, just “we dont need this law.”

    Ok…

They’re f****** Nazis and they support Nazi political movements they support this administration which is openly Nazi. They are f****** Nazis f*** them

As horrible as this is, I hope in a round about way, this leads to the elimination of the electoral college altogether. That’s the only way to make things truly fair.

Hey Washington democrats still think you are playing on a fair field? Or are you ready to fight dirty like republicans have done for YEARS

  17. I never thought the way our country would end would be by an enemy within. Ourselves. Never in a million years did I think I would watch my government dismantle itself brick by brick.

Wow. Kavanaugh’s comments about anti-discrimination statutes sunsetting…with the implication that SCOTUS gets to decide when is horrifying. Would represent the biggest power grab by SCOTUS since Marbury v Madison.

  19. Ready for that belt to ass Merica by your own government
    Yall caused this
The ones who voted for this
The ones that stayed home cuz they wanted to teach genoocide joe a lesson over fucking palestine and such or just stayee home cuz they bozos.

We have become a failed country, reality will catch up with the delusional population very shortly

  21. The United States as we’ve known it is coming to an end. It’s not falling apart, though – that would suggest that things are out of control. In fact, it’s quite the opposite: there is a concerted and strategic effort to dismantle what was once the United States, and this is just another case example. Six of nine Justices have it in their heads that we’re a post-racial society in which racism doesn’t exist, prejudice doesn’t exist, discrimination doesn’t exist…and that people in power don’t make calculated decisions based on it. The fact that those same people in power can explain away their obviously bigoted decisions in some simple terms of gerrymandering doesn’t change the fact that those lines are being drawn to minimize the voting power and representation of minorities in our country.

  22. We shouldn’t need racially based maps in 2025.  We need to redo how people are elected so we have accurate representation based on population.

We should have at least a thousand members of the House, and it needs to be more important to offset how land holds power over people in the Senate.
