Yeah, they have the majority, so it’s their responsibility to write up a bill that gets enough votes. Republicans are failing at their job. But they are hell bent on destroying the economy and killing USA citizens and that’s not getting them enough votes.

I mean, it’s pretty obvious. Republicans control congress, the judiciary, and the executive. They could end the shutdown right now, if they wanted to, and they wouldn’t even truly need a single democrat to help them. They just have to end the filibuster, something they said they would do already.
They don’t actually want to end the shutdown at all, which is why Mike has sent his buddies home on an extended vacation. With the government closed, Trump is using the opportunity to do all the worst shit he had planned. He’s firing thousands of people, and tearing down a chunk of the White House itself for his vanity project.
This isn’t going to end until the people take the republicans to account. I honestly would not be surprised if the government remains closed until next year at least.

Even their *nominal* position is “you should give up your healthcare to stop migrants from getting healthcare,” which, besides being untrue anyway, is still not exactly a juicy offer.
