Most MAGA don’t even know that they’ve been officialy under an National Emergency since the day Trump was elected, and that it’s the only reason Trump is “allowed” to do what he is doing (even though in most cases he isn’t even allowed, but the appeal courts are spineless and pretend that the emergency means something)

But on the other hand, when Trudeau declared one for about 2 weeks during a real emergency, they all knew about it in great details, and how it meant that Canada was now a Dictatorship.

It’s like if MAGA all share one brain, and it’s Rogan’s.

It isn’t just Trump, it’s the entire Republican party that plans to destroy the democracy of US voting.

Republicans haven’t been acting like they are beholden to the voting public for months now.

  3. Hey MAGA. Just for posterity. You guys probably assume a headline like this is liberal propaganda. (In many ways, it is, it’s clickbait, and someone pointed out that he’d need to do a whole lot more than just declare an emergency to hijack an election, but still, I pose the question) Would you support trump if this, or something like it, happened? We said the ice raids would be bad. We were right. We said he would fill the White House with cronies. We were right. We suggested he may turn the military on American cities. We were right. To be fair, that’s what a lot of you wanted.

But would you support any politician highjacking an American election? Keep in mind. There is still zero evidence that Biden or Hilary did anything of the sort.

But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.”

    States run elections.

There aren’t enough federal troops to stop that.

And even in the Red states, there are local elections to be decided.

None of this is to deny the desires that are there, but alas too many keyboard warriors, including those who put out copy to the web, understand how things actually work. This means they are liable to fixate on sensational but irrelevant threats that nonetheless generate clicks.

    Edit: spelling

  6. ‘Raising Fears’, is probably a little late to make the news media. We the People have been believers of this takeover since he was elected Dictator, or the King of Clowns.

Well duh. He’s doing everything he absolutely can to create a national emergency at all times

  8. This is both sad and funny. All of this – everything they are doing – is anchored in cult of personality.

It entirely hinges on the health and lifespan of a 79-year old man who eats a Big Mac and Filet-o-Fish from McDonald’s every day and has a hand clearly showing signs of frequent IV medications being pushed into his body. He’ll be 81 and won’t have made a meaningful change to his lifestyle by the next election cycle.

The damage will be done, but they won’t be in control by then. Not if it all hinges on an 81-year old diabetic with Alzheimer’s and dementia suffering from coronary disease.

  9. I think all should proceed as if he is absolutely going to highjack the election process and push through his third term dreams. It doesn’t require him to still be around or not. Those two steps and the claws are in deep.

  10. The man just knocked down part of the White House without warning and has instructed the DOJ to give him personally $230 million. Of course he is going to declare martial law and cancell all future elections. He believes he is above the law and the Republican House, Senate and Supreme Court all tell him he is right.

  11. If you are planning to declare an emergency on a particular date, it’s not a emergency, we can agree on that, right?

  12. >President Donald Trump’s newly created “election integrity” position within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) had suggested that the president could declare a “national emergency” to give his government new authority to dictate election rules typically decided by state and local governments.

So in other words, we probably can expect an attempt at mandatory voter ID and possibly a pushback against ranked choice voting.

  13. They are steamrolling our cybersecurity to open the door to some kind of serious attack so they can justify Patriot Act II: Electric Bugaloo (you already saw the premonition of this with the Kirk nonsense & Gaza activists).

They *want* dead Americans & massive data insecurity so they can immediately politicize it & say we can’t reasonably hold an election, or to permanently dispute the results if they lose.

  14. Hillbilly_Boozer on

Weird. Since when are ’emergencies’ known in advance? Unless it’s known because the event leading to the emergency is planned?

Huh, it’s almost like these assholes are trying to undermine democracy.

  15. Good. I say let’s throw our hands up and let them have it. Because it’s going to take some major, major pain for people to realize these ghouls aren’t on their side.

And with Dems out of power, the republicans will shoulder all the blame for when this shit show goes belly up.

  16. AWholeNewFattitude on

Holy shit! You mean that although literally every action they’ve done and statement they’ve made for the past year has telegraphed that this is exactly what they’re doing…that they’re actually doing it?!?!?
    Wow….

One second, can we pause for a moment and ask an important question:

How the fuck does a president *plan* a national emergency?

  18. JPMorgansStache on

I know we live in a time of zero short term memory, but it would be good to remind yourself that Trump actually has declared SEVERAL NEW states of emergency ALREADY. The stuff at the border which he claims they solved already – over fentanyl – and other related. Not to mention several other inherited states of emergency from his first term, and Presidents before him. That actually is up to Congress and they are delinquent in reassessing the necessity for said states of emergency.

  19. I don’t care if the US is a nuclear wasteland next year. I will drag my radiation poisoned butt across the molten ash to vote against this turd.

  20. CrimsonHeretic on

This was all very predictable a year ago. 70+ million Americans didn’t care and/or wanted this.

  21. He will start a war most likely and claim elections cant be held during wartime i.e “He did it!! Why can’t I do it???” pointing at Zelensky

  22. capture-enigma on

I’d be shocked if they didn’t try to mess with the 2026 election. I try to be optimistic but I’m positive things are going to descend into a chaotic darkness within the next year. Those on the other side, especially the evangelicals, think they are in a spiritual war against, well, us. They will literally sink to any depth to prevent the Democrats from ever taking power again. If you think things are bad now, trust me, they can get way worse.

  23. The writing is all over the wall. The only reason people aren’t fucking terrified is because they simply think it can’t happen here.

Blue states need to have action plans in place yesterday to deal with what’s obviously coming.

Red states…sorry, Blue cities. You’re fucked and I don’t know what to tell you or how to help you.

  24. I imagine come next year, conservative lead states will make a strong push to change their election laws to benefit Trump and do it just in time for the election

  25. There is literally a 0% chance that there aren’t armed soldiers around polling places next year! Studies show that, if there are armed soldiers or police outside of polling places, minorities (Democratic voters) won’t vote.
