Trump (the “stable genius”) was not able to threaten Mike Pence over the Electoral College, so he wanted a civil war. Trump’s civil war started Jan 6 and it’s on going.

  2. “I’d rather go down as a wimp than be jailed by his investigations or be killed by MAGA supporters.” – unnamed legislator, probably

  3. In my opinion, Mike Pence and Mitch McConnell are two people who could have caused a conviction during the second impeachment.
The Republicans refusal to fairly judge and vote accordingly was a blatant and shameful power grab.
It is no exaggeration to say Democracy itself is now at great risk.
The Republicans still have a chance to save us and future generations from this collapse into authoritarianism with a call for impeachment, but I dare say that no one expects that.
    No Kings!

  4. I could not disagree with Pence more on political or social positions if I tried but the man was a true American and a decent and law abiding person. He risked his actual life to defy that thing in the White House now and I’m sure he’s STILL high up on Trump’s “get back” list. Him and Brad Raffensperger the GA Secretary of State both stood in the breech at a moment in history and have my respect.

We should maybe start focusing on INDIVIDUAL REPUBLICAN REPRESENTATIVES that could be flipped. How many in the House and how many in the Senate do we need to impeach? Could Trump not be impeached NOW for his actions on J6th? Because I feel sure Jack Smith’s evidence shows the plot in no uncertain terms. And the BS Supreme Court ruling that it has to be Presidential actions cannot apply to his actions attempting to overturn an election.

Smith has ALL of that evidence nicely documented and vetted at this point it could go QUICKLY.

Hell I bet you could flip old Mitch McConnell I think he still actually regrets not doing it back then. Who else? It’s not a crazy idea. We don’t need nearly all of them, just some in each chamber.

EDITED TO ADD: From the article, part of Pence’s notes from that day include an “angry face” emoji doodle. There’s something insanely darkly humorous about that to me, I would love for that doodle to leak it should join the Internet pantheon of weird images lol

The “when u r so mad they tryna coup” emoji

  5. Mike Pence did one decent thing in his entire political life in not overturning the election. A real patriot vice president would have led the charge to make sure Trump was never allowed anywhere near the oval office again.

  6. This will probably go down as “The Era of Donald’s Civil War” in years to come.

A completely avoidable and unnecessary division driven mostly by a few fake-ass Americans looking to game the system.

Not quite what the founding fathers expected, but I guess they weren’t prepared for share holders.

  7. And this is why Trump Term 1 was actually pretty good for Indiana–it freed us from Pence. He’s just the worst–some men were clearly born to burn in hell and he’s one of ’em.

  8. >”The throughline of all of Mr. Trump’s criminal efforts was deceit,” Smith wrote in the final report.

  9. I thought I was having a stroke reading that title. It *is* possible to parse it, but there’s gotta be a better way to convey that information.

‘Trump told Pence, “You listen to the wrong people,” according to Karl’

…. Says the guy who has Putin’s tongue in his ear perpetually.
