As a reminder, the Republican promise for an alternative to the Affordable Care Act will be getting its driver’s license next year. So to quote Johnson, while they may “have been working on this for a long time”, I’m pretty sure the shutdown is *not* the reason they haven’t completed it yet.
I lived in the South for 4 years and absolutely hated that phrase. Don’t hide behind those fake southern manners. Just come right out and say what you mean. I’m actually more offended when they don’t speak their mind directly.

I know the old adage, “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.” But I don’t trust MTG, despite this apparent pivot to the center-left on certain issues. I’m not convinced that she’s even doing it for the right motives.

Anyone else know what “well, bless your heart” means to someone in the south? I had a friend in South Carolina tell me when a southerner tells someone that, it basically means “Screw you.” Don’t know if it’s true but it gives it a whole new meaning, every time I hear him say it.
They had the opportunity to do it with the Big Beautiful Bill. They didn’t. It’s like holy shit this is unpopular. I didn’t know.

Last year I got a 5% raise, my health insurance went up 8%. This year I may only get a 3% raise, and my health insurance is going up 14%.

Someone hit me with a “bless your heart” once when they didn’t like an answer I gave when they complained about some nonsense. I just smiled and laughed and said “thank you so much, it means a lot.” They walked away dumbfounded and best of all ceased their weekly griping.

I’m happy to do with Greene what repugnicans have done with Dems since time immemorial: take them for a ride as far as they’ll go, and then stab them in the back when it comes time to return the favor.
That’s the ultimate southern bell response, what a little shit stain. MTG sucks, but at least she has some empathy for her own kids suffering. If not for them, she’s still be just as terrible.
