I posted this comment earlier but I’m putting it here for visibility. Our job sucks and the stress is getting ridiculous. We need a raise bad or else we won’t be able to get quality applicants moving forward.
Our wages have stagnated for a decade, no we are NOT paid what Duffy said it’s a bold face lie a quick google will show you that. 6 day work weeks in a shifting schedule. Many of us forced to work 100s if not 1000s of miles from family/support systems. Marriages failing because we are always at work. Jobs threatened if we seek mental health help. Poor quality trainees entering the field because they don’t offer a competitive wage which is another reason our staffing is so poor. Controller suicides are way up. One of the most stressful jobs on the planet and now you want to say you won’t get paid??? Who would want to sign up for that? Why would I want to keep working these hours/shifts if I can go sell insurance for the same wages/benefits 5 days a week Monday-Friday and holidays off? I haven’t had a weekend off in 13 years! I rarely if ever get thanksgiving or Christmas off. I’m missing my kids lives to try and support them and give a good life while our purchase power has diminished. Why would I continue and not see my family???? Why on earth?
Our job LITERALLY could tank the economy overnight! All your vacations/weddings/graduations/business trips/funerals/2 day shipping, ALL OF IT. Grinded to a halt! Overnight. You’d be pissed and want refunds, well I just want my paycheck! And don’t say “you’ll get back pay” the bills are still coming. You let your boss tell you ehhh I’ll pay you what I owe you next time.:. Probably if I feel like it. Who knows when idk yet haven’t decided but one day you’ll get paid with back pay.

Just got back from flights to Vegas. Mine were fine, but I heard others flying in Friday had all kinds of problems. Kinda wish I didn’t go but it was basically free. Overall drop in people there is noticeable. It isn’t empty by a long short. Maybe 10% to 20% down.
