  1. Trump has used the autopen also.

That would make his pardons or other documents it was used on voidable also when the GOP loses power.

I know they don’t think that far ahead though.

Imagine spending taxpayer money investigating a pen. America really is the land of endless committees. 🖊️💸

  3. Up front: yeah, this administration is willing to break the law and violate the Constitution so what I’m about to say might not matter but…

The DOJ definitely doesn’t have the power to “void” constitutional provisions regardless of their evidence or justification for it. They don’t even have the power to change laws. Both of those things belong to other branches of government.

If this is what Congress wants then they should pass a bill, get sued over it, and let the Supreme Court decide to reinterpret the Constitution to weaken the power of the pardon.

  4. These guys really hate the Constitution.

A presidential pardon cannot be undone. They’re just making useless noise to rile up and distract their base.

  5. >However, the report does not point to a specific incident in which the investigators could demonstrate the autopen was used without Biden’s authorization.

So they’re lying. That committee should be brought up on charges, but so should the insurgent doj they report to.

  6. Retroactively invalidating Docusign contracts would ensnare the entire American economy in lawsuits for decades.

Meanwhile, Dementia Don didn’t even know the name of the guy he pardoned the other day. The press asked about it, and he replied “who’s that?”

  8. There is no mechanism to “void a pardon” in the constitution

Nor a way for the DOJ to magically remove supreme court Justices appointments without a typical impeachment/conviction from congress

He is also clearly still of sound mind even now:

A speech he made just a few days ago…its wild these morons act like He is a drooling vegetable when he is still out and about doing shit and was also doing shit the last 5 months of 2024 after the awful debate, he did pressers/interviews/public appearances all of it

The sad state of affairs the republicans have stretched towards. This party and resident of 1600 Pennsylvania behave as if there is no 2026 election. If people stay home, they may get their wish. But I think things are going to get pretty strained by that point.

Trump is doing what he can to wreck the economy and Wall Street is completely disconnected from Main. It will continue the distortion under this administration.

Just a sad state of affairs.

  10. The country is falling apart, millions are about to be without food assistance and pay but all the Republicans can think to do is harass a former President that has the nerve to call him out as a horrible human being and the absolute worst president this country has ever seen, including his 1st term which was formerly the worst in our history.

  11. Every single one of these fuckers likely has an autopen in their Congressional office and uses it. Source: have worked on Cap Hill, and operated an autopen for a member (to sign letters to constituents)

Asking the DoJ isn’t because they _think_ it’s unconstitutional. It’s because they _know_ it’s unconstitutional. If they introduced legislation, it would take years for the bill to be debated and ratified. This way, they can just do it and have the Supreme Court sign off on it. It’s a means to bypass the legislature and the constitution.

Sure, let them set the precedent that pardons can be overturned: then unpardonable the Jan 6 crowd, and everyone else that had benefited from Trump’s terms.

  14. Overturning past presidential orders because of “cognitive decline” will certainly never come back to bite the current office holder.

  15. The next administration will have to surrender many presidential powers to third parties and pardons are one of them. We need a nonpartisan civilian board to approve pardons, no longer should one man have that authority.

  16. The autopen was patented in the US in 1803, and was used by Jefferson as well aw many Presidents since. If they want to declare everything signed by it retroactively null and void our whole government would collapse.

  17. No matter what, they were going to find a way to invalidate Biden’s Pardons. Even if every pardon Biden signed was exactly the same as pardons signed by Trump, they were still going to throw them out. They are absolute pieces of shit, hellbent on creating a king.

  18. If this actually goes through that means nearly 100% of Trump’s signed orders are also invalid. I don’t think this is the win the GOP thinks it is. Trump hasn’t signed a single one of his pardon’s himself.

  19. So…. if Biden use of autopen makes anything signed by them invalid, by necessary extention, that makes ALL autopen signatures invalid – past, present and/or future. Has the chaos monkey used autopen? This particular sword cuts in all directions.

  20. It is a pity that this spineless dog turd does not spend his effort trying to get the Epstein filled released and seek justice for the victims of the powerful pedophiles But the whole Republican party is packed with Pedo- Enablers like this guy. Their children will be ashamed of them.

Random thought, can a pardon be rescinded? Wouldn’t that flirt with double jeopardy?

  22. Sure, let’s set a precedent for voiding pardons. If there’s another Democrat president, they will just void any pardon Trump hands out.

  23. A pardon is a pardon…it’s the intent and Biden has stated on several occasions this was his intent. The rule of law is dead. There are only a handful of options left to recover from this. Most of which don’t involve talking it out.

  24. From the article:

“However, the report does not point to a specific incident in which the investigators could demonstrate the autopen was used without Biden’s authorization.”

  25. They are truly insane people and we can all thank the American people for making this hellscape possible.

  26. So, if autopen signatures aren’t legally binding, our entire electronic document ecosystem will become invalid instantly.

Or, does this only apply to Biden, specifically?

  27. If they can pull this bullshit, they can get their asses back in session and get the government back open!
