Well. His brain is mush. He’s also a caricature of evil. So if he admits there’s a legal limit to his bullshit all the better.

  2. He’s likely aware that his health is bad, he doesn’t seem well and at this point I’d be surprised if his health doesn’t finish catching up to him before the next election.

Guy is getting tired. The sudden turnaround on this topic means he’s barely hanging on as-is.

  4. Yes. Yes, it does.

But don’t worry, I’m sure he’ll be right back to saying “we have some very good people looking into it” in no time.

  5. Obviously this was getting a lot of attention and he’s trying to downplay it now. I don’t know how anyone still believes anything he says. He’s done this a million times, says he won’t do something and then does it. If he lives until then you can rest assured he will go for it.

I’m more scared about him saying he won’t run for a third term than by him saying he will—because he lies about everything, to the point of triple-lying. So by *not* running, I’m assuming he will still finagle his way into a third term. Why should one single Constitutional law *suddenly* appear in his sights as impassable?

Fucking asshole will be lucky if hes still alive much less able to run for a 3rd term.  Wish he would fuck off already.

He’s not planning to run, but forment a ‘crisis’ which cancels elections and keeps him, his co-conspirators and his family in power.

GOP might see the boat sinking. The possibility of him having a third term would likely turn off a lot of voters in the midterms since it actually would be so out of the norm in an exaggerated way. At least that’s my optimistic reading of what I’m hearing from Trump and Johnson

    Correct.

Should have blocked you from running again in ’24 after losing in ’20 from all the federal crimes you committed too.

  11. This feels like how he knew “nothing” about project 2025.

My guess is that his talk about a third term is catching too much heat and is putting pressure on the people within Trump’s circles. At least those outside of people like Steve Bacon, who is adamant that Trump is going to get a third term.

Trump telling people what they want to hear but he’s still going to try to get a third term.

It’s a little thing called the constitution that blocks a third term! Why the hell did anybody elect this moron? Criminal!

  13. It’ll do that. Death might do it anyway based on his erratic behavior and rapid aging…

  14. As soon as Obama started making the rounds the past few weeks, and there was an article about this idea then opening up more terms for other past presidents, the “constitution” thing got dropped. No doubt they will still plan to do it, and giving Trump a pardon as a part of the plan.

  15. Anyone else concerned he’s specifically referencing “the Law” and not the Constitution? I’m not an expert in how the two intersect, but I do seem to recall an argument at one point that the President is the chief decider of what laws to enforce. By specifically tying this to “law”, could we be seeing the beginnings of the argument for how he gets to set aside that specific law and run for a third term?

  16. I hope they accidentally open the door for Obama to run again. I could do 4 more years of that right about now

  17. How is this news? Reddit has been full of this “story” for three days now.

Yes Trump is not eligible to run for President again. Also it is a LONG DAMN WAY until 2028 so speculative articles about Trump in 2028 is sort of like, do we not have stuff going on that is related to the world and 2025?

I mean I didn’t get bitchy about the first of thirty different articles about how Trump can’t run in 2028 but come on. He also can’t play the banjo. Should we do three days of articles about how Trump can’t play the banjo? What else can Trump not do?

Oh yeah that’s right he can’t tell the House to get their asses back in session because then they could vote to release the Epstein files.
