Arguing over the clearly unconstitutional nature of a third term is not the real story here.
Trump is walking it back and saying “no, of course I can’t seek a third term”.
Why? Because there is no way they can change the constitution. But they can bend it to their will under the unbearable weight of lies.
Here’s their plan. Next presidential election the candidates will be some other maga and a dem. There will be accusations of cheating right off the bat coming from trump, as he has done before. And if the Dems win they will lock up the government and seize control by misusing some existing measure. And trump will stay right where he is.
And if the maga candidate wins they will simply make trump the “premier advisor” to the new maga president. Trump will then split his time between New Jersey and Florida, but always tweeting, always saying what *they* need him to say.
