Snippet: Opinion piece by Rex Huppke

    * As 42 million Americans who struggle to put food on the table prepare to lose their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, I have one humble request: Please don’t let your hunger distract President Donald Trump from his important work designing a White House ballroom and posting AI-generated poop videos on social media.
    * The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced Oct. 27 that SNAP benefits, which help low-income Americans put food on the table, will not be distributed Nov. 1 because of the government shutdown, forcing millions of Americans to turn to food pantries already stretched thin by federal cuts and high food prices.
    * I realize some out there will say, “Wait, Republicans are in charge of both houses of Congress and the White House, and President Trump promised to lower food prices on Day 1 of his presidency. Surely they won’t let American families go hungry, right?”
    * To which I say: What a rude question. The president has been extremely busy helping all Americans by razing the East Wing of the White House and building a $300 million ballroom, AND he has been having a great time posting important things on social media, like the recent artificial intelligence video that showed him wearing a crown and flying a fighter that dumps poop on American protesters. Do you really think proper nutrition is more important than that?
    * In Congress, Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson has been patriotically refusing to bring the House of Representatives back into session because he wants to avoid a vote on releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files. Isn’t that worth missing a few meals over?

He’s not building a ballroom he’s leaving a crater where Americans’ pride used to be. There will be no “ballroom”

  4. Agreed. Elections have consequences. The Masses were too stupid to vote against him TWICE. SMH. “Let them eat cake.”

  5. The first question reporters and media should be asking the people they are interviewing who are complaining about the economy is “who did you vote for?”

Reminder: your local food bank can help and they would probably appreciate a donation in money or hours volunteering.

  7. This might a plan by Donnie to create violence and thievery by desperate people needing to put food on their tables and pay for mortgages. If chaos does occur, this would justify Donnie to militarizing cities.

People don’t need food this is in fact a myth by big food corporations and food security is certainly not a fundamental human right or anything crazy

  9. You know, you vote a guy into office (x2) who has never had to worry about anything in his life and I’m not sure what you expected. Empathy? Understanding?

He doesn’t know you, care about you, or would invite you to his garish clubs. You are the little people, the worker bees. So you don’t have a job. He’s never been without means, how would he know how to put food on the table or pay an electric bill? How would he know what it feels like to have not enough? He doesn’t. He knows how to get what HE wants. The American people – just a means to an end. Suckers who he duped into supporting him, even though everyone on the planet has know for years what he is.

Enjoy your ballroom MAGA. 99% of you will never be allowed near it.

Annnnd now they’ll try to blame a lapse in SNAP benefits on Democrats. Ha good luck with that.

  11. Am surprised they’re building a ballroom. I didn’t think America’s current politicians had balls?
