Also federally funded heating aid programs will not receive Nov. 1 payments during shutdown, which could be dire depending on the state.
Bernie is great. He is elderly, but sharp and vibrant. Very unlike our president.
Why aren’t the Dems using this as an opportunity to highlight Trump’s cuts to SNAP in the Big Ugly Bill and to food banks earlier this year.
We’ll never see this much support for food assistance, so why not force the GOP to restore that funding along with healthcare?
I think Trump has a grudge against America for not re-electing him in 2020. Ordering your administration to withhold $5 billion in SNAP funding for 42 million Americans is sadistic.

More people died of hunger in the US than in Gaza during the war. If Trump causes a hunger crisis in the US then we will be joining the ranks of Sudan or Congo.
