  1. Delta Air Lines and United Airlines called on Congress Thursday to reopen the U.S. government and pay air traffic controllers, with Delta urging senators to “immediately pass a clean continuing resolution.”

U.S. air traffic controllers missed their first full paychecks on Tuesday as the government shutdown drags on through a fourth week with no end in sight while Republican and Democratic senators remain at an impasse.

if they were to do this…it would clearly show they could have done this way before…

And before people think that this is because the shutdown is impacting their bottom line… it really has more to do with the recognition by these companies (and complaints from their pilots and flight crews) that everybody was already skating on thin ice and we are now in a condition where it is only a matter of time before there is another serious air accident caused by overworked and now unpaid air traffic controllers.

They should stop coming to work if they’re not getting paid. With all flights grounded, the GOP would reopen the government yesterday.

They lost all credibility the moment they started parroting the political demands to “pass a clean continuing resolution.” Classic corporate move…a thinly veiled attempt to shift blame and pressure Democrats.

Nice try, Delta. No thanks. I’d rather see everyone able to afford healthcare. Ball’s in the Guardians of Pedophiles’ court.

Sean Duffy, THIS is actually the REALIST World. Get your head out of Trump’s ass and start lobbying Congress before there’s a gigantic tragedy that could have been prevented if ATC hadn’t been working two/three jobs.

Wouldn’t it be super dangerous for Air Force One to fly back into DC if the air traffic controllers go on strike?

  8. The current Congress does whatever Trump wishes. To get the government open, the airlines are going to need to “donate” to trumps personal bank account, this is how things operate for the foreseeable future

They should be calling on the Republicans who want 40 million Americans’ health insurance premiums to skyrocket.
