  1. Hi r/politics, on Thursday night, the president of the Heritage Foundation — the MAGA right’s leading think tank — welcomed an open Nazi into his political coalition.

You might think this is an exaggeration, but it’s not. The Nazi in question here, podcaster Nick Fuentes, has described Adolf Hitler as “[really fucking cool](https://www.texastribune.org/2023/10/10/nick-fuentes-texas-meeting/)” and said “perfidious Jews” must “[be given the death penalty](https://x.com/karol/status/1984244275899728379)” after “we take power.”

And on Thursday, Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts [released a video](https://x.com/KevinRobertsTX/status/1983958755613262324) defending this person’s inclusion in polite-right politics: describing Fuentes not as a hate-monger to be banished from the decent right, but as a coalition member whose view of Jews-as-evil-traitors should be politely debated.

  2. Remember if 1 Nazi is having dinner with 9 other people there are 10 Nazis at the table.

Canceling him is not the answer, according to Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts.

    Neither is platforming him, Kevin.

NSPM-7 INSTRUCTS THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE TO PURSUE THE SPEECH AND EXPRESSIONS OF WHAT THEY NOW AFFILIATE AS DOMESTIC TERROR ORGANIZATIONS, to INCLUDE “ANTI-CAPITALIST”, “ANTI-FASCIST”, AND “ANTI-AMERICAN” political organizations

Nazis are just a tool of God. Just like Trump. I think even if it turned out Satan was just a tool of their agenda it still wouldn’t click for them that they are not doing God’s work.

  6. The Heritage Foundation is not a think tank. It is a swamp generator. So fuck them, and fuck the GQP

Oh no, the “Second American Revolution will be bloodless if the left allows it to be” fascist thug tolerates Nazis? What a surprise!

  8. In what world is this surprising? Republicans ARE the Nazi Party.

Nazi policies. Nazi members. Nazi salutes. Nazi racism. Nazi propaganda. Nazi sexism. Nazi slogans. Nazi nativists. Nazi supporters. Nazis vote for them. Etc., etc., etc.

  9. Of course. Nazis are a key element of the GOP coalition. 30-40% of GOP staffers under 30 are fans of Fuentes.

Fascinating how they believe they can welcome a Nazi and also be against antisemitism.

  11. I’m curious to know if there were people out there who didn’t already know whose swastika bedecked heritage the Heritage Foundation is really designed to preserve.

I knew it was them just based on the headline! The Heritage foundation should have been broken up and it’s leaders charged with sedition many years ago.

If we make it through this as an intact country we have to stop being cowardly and remove these kinds of people from society, If their goal is to destroy our society we have no obligation to tolerate their presence.

  13. >Reasonable people can disagree about whether Hitler was good, says the Heritage Foundation.

Reasonable people can disagree about whether Hitler was good? Ha, ha, ha. Good one there, Heritage Foundation.

So… does that jive with their stance on Israel?

It’s almost like, and follow me here, nothing fucking matters…

  15. Republican Conservatism is dead. They killed it themselves. It’s just the Trump White Christian Nationalist Nazi Party now.

  16. Kevin Roberts and Nick Fuentes ar anti Constitution. They have no business being involved in American politics. They should be considered traitors to the United States!

  17. The same Nick Fuentes the guy who shot Kirk was obsessed with? Whose community memes were all over the bullets? That Nick Fuentes?

  18. I would remind people that the republican party was pro Hitler until 1941. Nothing has changed.

Canceling is a direct consequence of bad actions it’s accountability, it’s the exact right answer.

Is this supposed to elicit a reaction? There’s an openly white supremacist autocrat in the White House rn.

No surprise from a man whose dinner party small talk was a story about killing his neighbor’s dog for barking too much.

The two oil tycoons and preachers who bulldozed TX into legislating right wing zeal even distanced themselves from Fuentes last year: In the wake of a controversial scandal involving white supremacist Nick Fuentes, two of Texas’ wealthiest conservative donors are doubling down. Tim Dunn and Farris Wilks, known for their deep pockets and far-right leanings, have contributed a hefty $2 million to a new political action committee dubbed Texans United for a Conservative Majority, as reported by [KSAT](https://www.ksat.com/news/texas/2024/01/24/after-fuentes-scandal-texas-billionaires-fund-new-pac-to-support-conservative-candidates/). This move comes despite the backlash from their previous engagement with Defend Texas Liberty, which hosted Fuentes for a controversial and extensive seven-hour meeting.

  22. Core principles of the Nazis were white supremacy, ultranationalism and the establishment of a totalitarian state.

How is the GOP different? Considering that, why would it be news that they’re defending their party goals?

  23. Had a weird tin foil hat moment today. And like, surely it’s just a ridiculous thought but… was reading through the comments on a post about “what’s a fact about WWII…” and this particular comment chain was about how all these Nazis fled to Argentina, how Hitler possibly faked his own death and also ended up there. How the Vatican assisted, Argentina welcomed. People were saying things like “the 4th reich” and whatnot.

Then I thought, well what if. What if those same people and their cohorts quietly rose to power within Argentina. What if the Nazis as a political power never truly went away. What if….

And here we are. Well not “we” so much as the powers that be. Here THEY are suddenly propping up Argentina. Bailing them out. Strengthening the bond. Meanwhile our constitution is being used to wipe the collective asshole of the MAGAGOP.

    What if….

    No.

    Couldn’t be.

No basis for fact, just been in Reddit too much lately and doomscrolling current events.
