“My message to America is, first, the fact that your government is failing you, right now,” said Rollins, whose department oversees the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP.

She continued her ode to bipartisan responsibility, noting that “poverty is not red or blue, it is not a Republican or Democrat issue,” and ended her message by making clear: “If you are in a position that you can’t feed your family … we have failed you.”

Then Johnson chimed in to say that it was the Democrats fault.

    No, you.

    Takes one to know one.

I know you are but what am I?

…and other pearls of wisdom from the House speaker.

    Is Brook Rollins safe?

Just checking that she has not been sent to one of Trump’s concentration camps.

  4. How Christian of Mr. Johnson. I seem to recall Jesus said something about “feeding the hungry”.

He should view people going hungry as an all-encompassing failure of the government he serves and should be working to fix it however he can.

Get your tongue out of Trump’s asshole, Michael. That’s what dogs do.

You’re not a dog, are you Michael?

  6. Alternative headline:

*House Speaker Mike Johnson pretends to switch parties and becomes a Democrat just to continue to lie to the American people.*

The upside for Pedophile Protector Johnson in keeping the house closed to protect pedophiles, is that it gives him time to randomly show up and blame democrats for things.

Too bad Pedophile Protector Johnson doesn’t realize him appearing anywhere also serves to remind people the house has been closed for 6 weeks to avoid the Epstein vote and protect pedophiles

  8. They keep dropping these little Freudian slips and I’m starting to think they’re intentional

  9. It’s not about politics. It’s not Dems or Republicans.

MJ: But to be clear she meant the Democrats.

    What a complete tool.

  10. republicans control the House.

    republicans control the Senate.

    republicans control the White House.

Negotiate funding the ACA and this will be resolved.

I love the fact that a guy who thinks he is so Christian and so proper is defending a pedophile. If he would do his job we would see the truth to the Epstein list and I think he is on in it in some way.

  12. The democrats are so good they can ruin the country without even holding a majority in any branch

  13. Isn’t the food stamp thing going to seriously fuck up the grocery industry? I mean that is a lot of product that’s not going to move

  14. Johnson having real big “They’re not booing you, they’re saying Boo-urns!” Energy.

If the top 20 richest Americans have about $2.4 trillion total wealth,
    then:
5% of that = $120 billion — enough to fund food stamps for one year.
If their portfolios earned just 5% annual returns, that’s $120 billion in new wealth each year.
In other words: they could fund the entire U.S. food stamp program every year just by donating the investment gains, while their total wealth stays the same.

Actually I think that’s respectful of them. That’s about a quarter of the problem a lot of us have with politicians. The lack of honesty, and never admitting when they know they’re not doing a good job. Now if only they would resign though…

  17. “We have failed you” is maybe the only bit of honesty we’ve had from these fucking goons since 2016. So if course Mike Johnson had to shit all over it.

  18. I was speaking to someone recently and they put forth that the government is clearly no longer serving us. If it is going to war without congressional approval, it is shutting down the government for over a month. It has fired hundreds of thousands of federal workers. And it is cutting food support to millions while militarizing our cities and bulldozing our White House.

It is in clear violation of everything listed in the declaration of independence and our Constitution.

So the question was, when are citizens going to take our government back? And I thought that was very interesting question to start asking, because what we have been doing isn’t working.
