From “no new wars” and “lower prices” during the campaign, to new wars and higher prices in the first year, it’s pretty obvious why.

Millions of Trump voters have remorse because they now see he lied to them about everything and they also see that he is not helping them at all (and he doesn’t care about them at all). For many of them it is “too little too late” because of the damage Trump has already done.

  3. Its really driven by folks who voted for him and got directly impacted financially or had their rights taken away. Very sad that they were comfortable inflicting this on others but had a change of heart when the target changed to them. This is how important the ability to empathize is and why religious manipulators attack empathy so aggressively.

His voters need to apologize to the rest of the country because we are all suffering from their decision. Ask for mercy, not sympathy

  5. I know people like to make fun of the orange tan, but what the heck is happening around his eyes?

  6. I think a lot of people have tried to make all this some novel thing, but it’s honestly pretty simple.

The guy got in the first time off of name recognition. There’s a certain sleazy charm, yes, but it’s easy to say it should be an easy win when you don’t really get the headstart he had there. It’s not like Trump was just famous, he was one of the most famous men in the country who up until that point had a general reputation as a bit of a fun rogue. Many people are still voting based on liking The Apprentice 20 years ago.

2024? Sure you can look at it as a complete Democratic failure…or be honest and admit changing horses midstream in an election year the globe saw an anti-incumbency wave was a pretty tall order. Even then it was that sleazy charm that barely pulled him over the line with a little help from Gen Z boys who we’ve honestly failed by letting grow up in a world where this shit is normal. It was so narrow we even had absolutely anomalous levels of split-ticket wins.

Then Trump took that and acted like he has some commanding mandate for not just every crazy thing he said on the campaign trail, but a whole bunch of new shit. It’s been a year and we’re sitting here thinking about simultaneously invading Nigeria, Venezuela, and a dozen major American cities. Deporting citizens to fuckin Sierra Leone because? Fuck em I guess.

  7. Wow, who could have seen this coming, it is not like we have 4 years of experience to go off. Or the experience of the disastrous 8 years of W’s presidency.

Too bad Kamala laughed funny though, how could we vote for someone like that when Joe Rogan and Theo Von were telling me how hilarious Trump is?

What’s interesting today is that, outside of boilerplate griping about Voter ID and mail ballots, Trump has not been out there pushing his “rigged election” rhetoric

I remember when I was a kid and went hunting, I looked at the giant cage and be like no creature would be dumb enough to crawl inside. My dad said “oh yeah there’s always some dumb ones”

And that’s how I felt when I see this news article

  10. Anyone that works retail will tell you how dumb customers are. These customers bought this product returned it because they didn’t like it. Then came back and bought it again. 🤦‍♂️

  11. “Americans have developed a big-time case of buyer’s remorse about Trump, and a very solid majority of them despise what Trump has perpetrated against America.”

    Sums it up pretty well.

ALt headline: People touch even hotter stove top, finds it hurts worse. No one could have known this unless they touched said stove top again.

  13. Fuck them. “Buyer’s remorse.”

    Fuck them and fuck that.

1/3 voted for this and 1/3 couldn’t be bothered to vote against it.

2/3 of this country isn’t smart enough to vote.

  14. All the experts were warming a second Trump term would be a disaster and we already had his first term to see how awful he is. But they voted for him anyway

  15. Why is nobody commenting on how awful his eyes look?

LOOK at his eyes, WTF is wrong with him? No sleep? Too much meth?

  16. Ferruginoushawk7 on

Explain to me mangoturd’s logic. He/republicans blame the shutdown on the democrats. Then he blames the all the democrats victories in the voting bc of the shutdown? If that is the case how did the democrats win when the shutdown is “their fault” but the voters voted to put more democrats in charge.

  17. …again. America has big time buyers remorse AGAIN. Why in the fuck did anyone think it would be different this time?

  18. Republicans are going to try and make this seem like it was all one big regretful mistake. Don’t let them. They knew what they voted for. Never let them live this down.

A lying traitor was put in office by big tech companies thats colluded to cheat the election process. We need new regulations and new checks in place to reimpose limits to the presidents ability to disrupt the continuity of government as well as place national guards solely under the command of governors with congressional review on their deployments.

Funny how this article just assumes that MAGA and republicans are somehow capable of self reflection. If that was the case we wouldn’t have gotten Trump 2.0

  21. throwaway1601900 on

This wrongly assumes MAGA isn’t a cult, which of course it is, and wrongly assumes MAGA is capable of self-reflection and remorse, which of course they’re not.

  22. If only there was thousands of instances where Trump showed us how awful he is in the last 10+ years.

  23. It’s crazy how the thing that was a disaster the first time around is a disaster a second time around.

  24. And it would get worse: in his first term it was reported that those adults in the room stop him from doing many things. But instead of them in this term project 2025 is behind the wheel.

So he can actually do whatever he wants. Like the stupid tariffs on everything.
