The way Coumo attacked Mamdani in last few days is absolutely despicable. The guy was ready to stoop to any label for winning the election.

Free childcare? I guess its radical idea for America.

He’s probably reading r/democrats and thinking that the election never happened…

  4. No one liked him anyway. At least his departure was authenticity “him”. He is an authentic jerk.

  5. Cuomo made it clear that working for his electorate was not his priority, because his electorate clearly and unambiguously said “No” to him, but decided he knew better.

I would say a lot of people like a sore loser, case in point, Trump. But eventually it gets old.

  7. >“I feel excited to be moving to Long Beach, because there’s no fucking way I’m staying in the city with that piece-of-shit jihadi communist as mayor,” a woman called Felice said, combining Islamophobia with inaccuracy.

Venn diagram of Cuomo and Trump supporters.

We’re just stuck in this loop of

    1) Your side wins – “Relax, it’s not that serious you’re gonna be fine. Quit being the victim and come together.”

    Then

    2) Your side loses – “I have to leave, this is serious. This is the *one* outcome that will ruin everything.”

Not gonna lie, Cuomo’s election night party sounds like it would have been amazing to crash. They were obviously preparing for a loss with an open bar 🥴

  10. in 1977 Mario Cuomo lost to Ed Koch by nearly the same percentage (50%-41%). History does not always repeat, but it rhymes., for sure.

  11. He already refused to accept defeat once already why does this surprise anyone. Cuomo like so many rich nepo babies (like Trump) believe he is ordained by god to be given everything they desire. In his mind NY should have just declared him mayor cause he is a Cuomo. It’s why losing to Mamdani the first time fully broken him and made him go full Islamophobia he is going to do 9/11 Trump please help me mode. These people are so mentally ill that the concept of not getting everything they want destroys the very foundation of their reality.

    AGAIN?
Dude… learn to read the room.

    Also, from the article:

    >“I’m not disappointed at all. No, because Cuomo ran a great campaign,” he said. Jones added of Cuomo, who is 67 years old: “He’s still a young man.”

I think i might have just pissed my pants laughing.

  14. > “I’m not disappointed at all. No, because Cuomo ran a great campaign,” he said. Jones added of Cuomo, who is 67 years old: “He’s still a young man.”

Good god, I wish people would just say it as it is. Cuomo’s an old man. He and every other person over 65 should retire from politics.

If you’re a more centrist Dem and didn’t like Mamdani for whatever reason, that’s fine. Take his win as a lesson for the broader Democratic Party.

Stop running corrupt oligarch-owned sex offenders. Especially stop running people who feel entitled to office on the basis of their famous family name. No one likes them, especially younger voters you need to win.

  16. > “I don’t want to cry in front of people, but I feel heartbroken,” Diaz said. She voted for Cuomo because he was a “great governor” who did a lot for the Bronx, she said. She wasn’t optimistic about Mamdani.

Lmao oh yeah so radical — he wants your grandchildren to have free childcare, public transit, and affordable housing. What radical ideas!
