This is impressive because CT often bucks national trends towards Dems in recent years. In 2018, a lot of Dem underperformances in special elections came from New England, and particularly CT, with Republicans even flipping Dem seats there IIRC. Lamont also went on to win the gubernatorial election in that year by a really weak 3 points after polls had him up by a good amount.

When I went to vote after work, I was expecting a few cars in the parking lot. It was just as busy as it was last year, and there weren’t even any ballot measures.

I miss living in CT. Good for them!
