I will always blame ALL Trump voters for this self-inflicted recession.

We were better under Biden’s presidency.

  2. It turns out promising “good jobs” in the field of “something terrific, believe me.” Isn’t a plan? Well, I’ll be damned.

  3. He’s certainly keeping his promise about draining the swamp… it’s just that he thinks we’re the scum in the swamp, not his cronies.

  4. It’s honestly not great this is becoming another D vs R thing. It’s obvious corporations aggressively over hired during ZIRP because there is no hire to fire punishment. The focus here is not to blame an administration because the same would happen under either.

If you don’t want to see this in the future there should be some form of corporate punishment for layoffs, and companies won’t increase staffing by 50% randomly

Meta tripled 2018 -> 2022. No good reason and not sustainable. Anyone here working in a corporate environment in America knows half of their team is useless and 90% of their meetings do nothing

Thought Republicans are against people getting unemployment and free handouts from the government?

A lot of people going to be collecting those checks this year because of this nonsense.

  6. Trump the job killer.. we’re bringing back all those beautiful jobs. People will be begging to get a gig putting screws into iPhones.

  7. The most since the *previous* illegitimate, SupremeCourt-backed,Saudi-Financed Republican regime that directly and deliberately eroded life for the American people (and Iraqis, and our fellow “Operation Enduring Freedom” coalition members). We cannot forget that IlTrumpo is the culmination of decades of Republican attacks on our Democracy and the world at large (aided and abetted by feckless, corporatist “thirdway” Dem crap).

Funny how in the article it’s described as “recession-like”. If this was Biden, every headline would blare were in a recession.

Just like when the Tea Party first took off and they 1000 people show up at a protest, it was boldly declared “a movement”, whereas No Kings Protests…”could this become a movement”?

It’s quite something to see mainstream media treat GOP generated bad news with kid gloves – they soften and pad it out with explanations and challenges as to why it’s not as bad as it seems. They also over-amplify and GOP success, no matter how tiny or silly.

Meanwhile, Democrat bad news is always explained in black and white and successes are tampered down regardless of size or magnitude, it’s hard not to see it in play everywhere. There’s a reason the meme of “why this great thing Democrats did is bad for Biden” became a thing!

He just needs to keep firing people until he finds someone willing to invent the numbers he wants.

  10. Since 2003?! We’re talking more than the Pandemic layoffs which he realistically had far less control over (though truly was still majorly responsible for, given his handling of it).

That was enough to sink his first term, and we’ve already blown past that. Cool place we have here.

    cool cool cool

Republicans won’t admit we’re in a recession until the country is neck deep in a depression.

  12. Yeah, and we are supposedly not in a massive recession. The front of the economic train has hit the wall, and the back doesn’t know it yet.
