  1. It was my distress over these projected deaths, and Elon Musk’s involvement in this USAID shutdown, that led me to organize a protest outside our local Tesla showroom. 140,000 people died at Hiroshima and yet the shut-off of food and medicine to kids all over the world is expected to easily outstrip that.

  2. Trump killed hundreds of thousands of Americans the first time … so far this time it is mostly non Americans that he has killed.

As long as billionaires get $4 trillion in expanded tax cuts, the just fucking don’t care about the lives deemed unworthy of life.

  4. Trump has killed more innocent people in 10 months than Israel has killed in these last 2 years.

Trump and his friends motto is “out of sight, out of mind”. Or “theyre from a third world country. Who cares”

The people who vote for fuckstick McClownface will never believe, understand, or even be interested in this.

i want to call this unbelievable, but with the criminals in charge this is so fucking believable.

“Who cares it’s not our problem?!” – Said by the same people who now want to establish humanitarian efforts in Nigeria to “save Christians”

If your mental health is strong enough, read about what’s happening in Sudan and how much of it is Trump’s fault

It is frustrating to see how easily human lives are put on thr line for political games. This should not be a political games, we need to hold our leaders accountable

  11. The gutting of USAID is a big reason why if you’re a Trump voter, you are not pro-life or give even the slightest shit about “saving the children”

Genuinely wondered when the stats on this were going to start trickling out. Because when the USAID shutdown orders came down, hospital staff literally had to put down their tools, clock out, pack, and return immediately. There wasn’t any sort of transition or handoff period, dozens of doctors, nurses, etc reported to podcasts and on interviews that they had to leave patients in treatment that absolutely wouldn’t see the end of the week without continued care. And that’s not counting those they expected to take in since they operated in areas of significant need.

Only saw a handful of mainstream coverage, some analysts explaining it could amount to 300k dead by the end of the year, then right onto the next thing. Seems those analysts were right.

  13. Significantly more innocent lives have already been lost due to this than have been lost in Gaza since 2023.

They’re both real issues, but one of them got basically zero attention during the election cycle. This is precisely what makes me so cynical whenever someone claims to care about the death of innocents around the world.

  14. Well at least we got the budget under control.

What’s that you say? Record deficits you say?

Well I’m sure our president is hard at work on… uh… a Great Gatsby party and a ballroom…

Do not ever let Trump supporters pretend they are decent people. They are scum and they need to be treated like it.

  16. And Republicans along with Donald Trump applauded as Elon Musk, a guy who is so greedy he is seeking to become a trillionaire pushed not just to make cuts, but kill thousands and create more instability worldwide. They put passed it and said it was just the beginning

Hard to find a comparable level of disgusting joy

So, are all those academics patting themselves on the back for their erudite critiques of “white savior complex” over the last decade ready to rethink their position now?

  18. Upset-Government-856 on

I can’t believe Elon Musk isn’t blamed more for this. It was clearly his idea.

  19. Pro life until birth. Then it’s “Pull yourself up by the bootstraps” and “Thoughts and prayers”.

It has also meant that my fiancee and her son in Eswatini 🇸🇿 have had to rely on me (while my federal paycheck is being delayed by the shutdown) to access medical care, where before USAID provided services for them as basic as annual physicals for free.
