That AP notice about airlines was as of last night. At least a thousand more flights likely to be canceled today, bringing the total to 3,500+.
Virginia Gov.-elect Abigail Spanberger, the state’s first female governor, said her recent election victory should not be seen as permission for congressional Democrats to prolong the government shutdown.
“Our victory was based on a campaign addressing concerns related to costs and chaos,” Spanberger told @margbrennan. “Virginians need to — and Virginians want to — see the government reopen.”
This clip is circulating among some Senate Dems right now, I’m told. 👀
I’m concerned that this means that Democrats are about to fold. I hope Schumer and anyone who votes for it who is not retiring knows that this could be the end of their Senate careers.
We need the Friends intro to play at the start of every one of these now, with shots of Thune and Schumer looking increasingly smug and constipated as the song goes on

I heard Trump’s big new health care idea is to get his personal doctor to write every single American a doctor’s note that says they’re in such perfect health, they actually need health insurance anymore.
Dems are apparently gonna cave
NEWS — A deal in the Senate to end the government shutdown is within reach, multiple sources from both parties told Axios.
At least 10 Dems are likely to support a procedural vote on a package of funding bills and a CR, sources said.
It would be in exchange for a vote on ACA tax credits in December and some language re: RIFs.
Well fuck
Day 40
Good ‘morning’ bot. I guess it was a long night of chugging motor oil?
Democrats gonna cave, huh?
What a surprise.
