    So healthcare is being cut? Why did you start then? If you are going to cave, cave before shutdown. Pathetic shit-show.

  2. AmericaVotedTrump on

    Democrats tear themselves apart at every opportunity while republicans are united in dismantling the country. Incredible. My heart goes out to those losing their ACA credits.

  3. That’s great, but I’m pretty sure there are enough old guard Dems that are happy to reopen the government with a promise and not a victory

  4. Bottom Line … and it’s sickening … The Republican Hostage Takers got what they wanted … mostly killing the Affordable Care Act and health care for millions of Americans. We must prevail over them in the 2026 elections.

  5. scrotalsmoothie on

    **We need to start voting out establishment Democrats.** They are hindering true progress, are cowards, and have personal interests above ours. It’s the only way out of all this MAGA shit.

    Make sure they know we’ve had enough and will not hesitate to fire them.

  6. nurse-ratchet- on

    They should be slammed. I think the most recent elections show who the American public sides with. These idiots are about to give it up for what amounts to a pinky promise from some of the worst people.

  7. UnbanSkullclamp on

    “Omg a promise to vote on the ACA in a month” the only saving grace of fascism is if I can be put in camp with these spineless losers running the democratic party

    Maybe another strongly worded letter will help

    * Tim Kaine (2030)
    * Jeanne Shaheen (Retiring)

    * Maggie Hassan (2028)
    * Catherine Cortez Masto (2028)
    * Jacky Rosen (2030)
    * Angus King (2030)

  9. The irony to see the huffpost pop up ad in large caps saying “WE’RE NOT AFRAID” lol actually the Dems were

  10. Democrats just voted to allow Trump and Heritage stooges to continue streamrolling right over everyone

    They gave up what remaining leverage they had

  11. 99% moot point but maybe try to remind these assholes what just happened in last week’s elections and that the same will happen to them in midterms.

  12. PSA the ones who vote to reopen for a pinky promise vote never cared about affordable healthcare. They cared about making their PACs business hurt enough to solicit more bribes for their vote.

  13. There is zero opposition to Trump and the MAGA Republican base AT ALL.

    We keep letting them get every single thing they want, without putting up an ounce of fight. Absolute fucking jokes that these Senate Dems are.

  14. if they roll over on this 100% trump and his admin will frame it as them owning the shutdown AND probably be petty as hell and do some gloating BS where they use it as a chance for a big FU by pulling some crap as soon as its open again.

    This is like dealing with a school bully and you agree to stop being beaten up for your lunch money by offering to buy him lunch daily and he still punches you in the face and takes your money

    Schumer needs to go.

    My dad is going to die if the ACA is touched.

    Republicans saying they will Guarantee a vote in December doesnt mean shit.

    Why are people fucking okay with this they are killing people out here.

    Make sure you remember which democrats are for killing our healthcare tonight.

    Edit:

    – John Fetterman (2028)
    – Tim Kaine (2030)
    – Jeanne Shaheen (Retiring)
    – Dick Durbin (Retiring)
    – Maggie Hassan (2028)
    – Catherine Cortez Masto (2028)
    – Jacky Rosen (2030)
    – Angus King (2030)

    Keep these traitors names fresh in everyone’s minds for the next 3 years.

  16. They need to call out their peers and remove them from any meaningful positions they can. Exile them from the party.

  17. For those voting for it that aren’t running again we need to know where they are gong to and nobody does businesses with them.

  18. 40 days just to cave JFC the Dems are so weak and predictable.

    You don’t win against dictators by appeasing them.

  19. Tall_Science_9178 on

    If we absolutely crushed the next two election cycles and had 75 democratic senators in 2029…

    …26 would probably line up to caucus with the republicans.

    What even is the point of electing democrats if they refuse to expend political capital for things like defending the defining democratic achievement of this century?

  20. Democrats line up to slam the emerging deal, while also grateful they don’t have to take the blame for dismantling the ACA, which they also don’t support.

  21. Republicans kept the US House closed since Oct 1, and now some Democrats are okay with agreeing to the version that passed before that date. So there was not even the smallest compromise from Republicans. Total failure in legislative negotiations doesn’t build much confidence. Democrats forcing Republicans to vote on trading 2025 tax cuts for billionaires for ACA health care subsidies should have been the minimum compromise IMO. Put everyone on the record with a vote.

  22. Both-Improvement8645 on

    How is John Fetterman not in a group home; dude stroked out and is smart as a box of hammers

  23. If they would have held up till thanksgiving i feel gop would cave cause imagine the people pissed over it and flights cancelled / delayed etc TSA lines super long etc.

  24. Financial-Mud-2433 on

    Some seriously weak ass shit at that press conference from Kaine, King and co. The best messaging they could come up with was “Republicans wouldn’t give in so we did”.

  25. makeup_your_mindd on

    So the government was shut down for 40 days just so the dems can cave? Well that was for nothing. Wtf.

  26. Se_habla_cranky on

    Just want to point out Chuck Schumer is not on that list.

    Say what you want about the man and there’s plenty to criticize but again, he is not on that list.

  27. After all this pain, all the support from the constituents, democrats are just going to fold and lose this shutdown situation

  28. I work in DC and part of my job is lobbying for those with mental health disabilities and the homeless. It is gonna be hella hard not booing at them in the hallways. I wont because Im a professional but god damn…Im taking tomorrow off.
