Angus King – Independent, Maine (caucuses with Democrats)

Jeanne Shaheen – Democrat, New Hampshire

    Dick Durbin – Democrat, Illinois

Catherine Cortez Masto – Democrat, Nevada

Maggie Hassan – Democrat, New Hampshire

    John Fetterman – Democrat, Pennsylvania

Everybody’s health insurance premiums will go up now due to a smaller pool of insured.

The media will fall in line to normalize these 8 as moderates or centrists. Yet their real stance is more inflation.

Remember the official stance of the “moderates” is more inflation. Ask yourself how moderate that really is?

  3. We are learning two things:

    1) It’s gonna get a hell of a lot worse before things get better.

    2) The idea of being bipartisin or catering to the center with these fucks is absurd. The only momentum is further left. We have to lean in.

These Senate Demcorats need to be replaced by fresh leadership that is capable of fighting for Americans. Tragicly none of them is up for rejection next year

Feckless cowards. If a genie gave Democrats three wishes, they would bargain it down to one that appeals to Republicans.

Likely? People were pissed when we first started hearing about this shit like week. The general tone was “don’t you fucking dare.” Now, they have gone through with their shit tier level of stupidity and given Republicans everything with nothing to show for it. Democrats got played by Republicans, and the American people will pay the price for this failure.

Every single one of the voters that crossed the line is either retiring or not up for election for years to come. They knew they would be safe from blowback on this. The party will suffer hard for this. Mamdani showed the establishment Democrats that the people are tired of this bullshit. They clutched defeat from the jaws of victory.

  7. I feel like it’s almost guaranteed the ATC problem going into Thanksgiving was the number one biggest reason they caved. People will think it sounds like they were doing it for American people but the reality is their rich donors realized they couldn’t go anywhere they wanted whenever they wanted and they caved. Yes the American people will slowly start to have some pressure relieved by this move. However come January the pain is just going to return. The democrats have squandered everything. Yellowbelly cowards who don’t know how to stand with working people.

DNC leadership needs to go. They’re not equipped to fight a war against fascists. And we have capitulated to the rise of fascism v2. The united states is on a dangerous path, one I do not believe there is any recovery for in the near future. Protect yourself, protect your family, protect the ones you love. We are about to hit the climax of this very difficult era.

Make no mistake, Shumer orchestrated this.

Henceforth I will be calling them Shumer’s shills.

  9. Do NOT spare Schumer, he owns this as well as the 8. Don’t buy the no vote for being anything other than backroom talks and public placation.

Nevada, Virginia, Maine, New Hampshire, Illinois, Pennsylvania.

You have your homework. Find out when they are up for reelection, and ensure they lose their seats over this.

That means SHOWING UP, and VOTING. Learn from Tuesday. That’s your fighters. You want to fight? Do what they did.

Don’t sit out like a coward because you didn’t get your way. Don’t be the 2024 inaction voter. Don’t fuck us again. Go out. Vote. Get them out of here. No seats for cowards.

Even if most are 3 years away, I don’t give a fuck. Don’t be a short term memory American. Remember this, and remember to make them own this. Never shut up about it. All the way up to when they do become eligible for being removed.

You want a stronger Democratic party? Balls in your court. I know you can do this. Tuesday reinvigorated my hopes in the American people in a big way.

No fucking bell rang for you. Ring theirs.

  10. GoP, United in promoting asinine policies.

    Democrat, United in not uniting.

Cuck Schumer remains true to his name and is unable to control his party.

40 days. Then snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Now the whole shit show can get rebranded as a Democrat shutdown.

I guess the more things change, the more it remains the same.

Honestly, from the sideline, it looks like the whole thing is a reality tv.

If you’re angry make calls *right now* before Monday voting.

Call these 8. Call your senators. Call Schumer. call your congressperson. Anyone who might have sway.

  12. I was so positive before this that dems would take back control of at least the house in the midterms. Now I am not sure because who can look at the Dems as a party of solutions. I am really disappointed in this.

  13. Likely to? Consider me enraged. Primaries for every single one of them and I spit on the graves of the retiring ones who are screwing us on the way out.

  14. Primary them all! If you aren’t pushing for universal healthcare and restoring the rights of people lost under Trump. Then you’re the rot in the party that needs to be removed.

Is Progressive Candidates or Trump. Theirs no room for Spineless Centrists who fold to Republicans.

  15. Tim Kaine… Go fucking figure. If we needed any more of a sign of how fucking pathetic this party has become, you can look no further than the fact that one of its recent VP candidates can’t even be arsed to hold the line right after the party had an overwhelming win in his state during this shutdown. Establishment Dems are spineless fucking cowards.

  16. Democrats: the Republicans now own your weak asses. They’ll pull this stunt again down the track and they now know they can just sit there and wait for you to fold like a tin can – no matter how long it takes.

I’m tired of creators on IG already doing the copium excuse that they can always change their minds like they did with the BBB. They only need 50 votes to pass this CR in the final vote, which they already have without those 8.

  18. Designer_Buy_1650 on

This ends the shutdown. Republicans now have the ammunition to say Democrats caused it. Horrible time to be a Democrat. Schumer is a piece of shit.

  19. Unusual_Specialist on

It’s all one big club, man. The gap keeps getting wider, and we’re inching closer to a real “We the People” versus them moment — the executives, politicians, and enforcers running the show.

  20. They better primary these assholes during the elections. Kick everyone of them out. These are the same scumbags that voted for the Big Beautiful Bill as well.

  21. Dickless Durbin votes for the Republican agenda…***again.***

This motherfucker had the balls to stand on the center stage in downtown Chicago during the No Kings rally last month.

  22. explosivekyushu on

John Fetterman is living, breathing proof that being a republican first requires crippling brain damage

  23. Those 8 Democrats need to suffer, but we also have to consider that they were 8 strategically picked Democrats not up for re-election in 2026 and therefore this was 100% coordinated by Democratic leadership that technically voted “no”… and the leadership, including shumer, needs to be primaried and forcibly removed from office. And if the party won’t do it, I’m expecting liberal independents to challenge them in those states.

  24. With the House and Senate members of 2025/2026, it seems to me the best Democrats can hope for is to showcase Republican hypocrisy regarding their support for working Americans. But with the results to date, the odds for success seem pretty long.

To me, ending the shutdown like this is a failure of leadership at the top of the Democratic party. You have a shutdown for 40 days and it is ended with not a single Republican concession in the legislation being passed. Maybe it is just a coincidence, but the shutdown lasted just long enough to get through the 2025 campaign donation collection period. Sure, there is a Republican promise to continue negotiations on health care, but it is unclear to me at least that the leverage will be any better next time, even if there is another shutdown.

The Democratic leadership couldn’t get even a single letter or punctuation changed in the House passed bill. It is the same one the Republican House passed before the Speaker closed the House on Oct 1. The so-called “Democrats who folded” may be convenient to blame, but they weren’t the ones that failed to put enough political pressure on Republicans to force a compromise. I could be wrong, but I don’t think Republican politicians want the public remembering how they cut the taxes of the richest Americans while health care costs for all Americans soar; but the way things are going, Democrats seem destined to trade away something else their supporters need in order to secure even a one-year extension of the ACA subsidies. Regardless, there should be high priced consultants and lawyers paid by Democratic campaign donations to develop winning strategies.

  25. I am soooo tired of being in a party populated with such craven COWARDS.

Do these COWARDS not understand that the Repugnicans do not care if their policies hurt poor and working-class people?

Do you know why? Because Repugnicans *enjoy* hurting the poor and the working-class!

Now the Repugnicans know for a fact that if they hurt people hard enough and long enough then the craven COWARDS will cave in and let the Repugnicans do whatever the hell they want.

Everyone of those COWARDS need to be primaried by true defenders of the poor and working-class.

The rich already have 60 defenders in the Senate.
