  1. Hey I just said the same thing in the megathread. If we were gonna fold after 40 days, then why fuckin do it at all?

That’s what happens when your country has two right wing parties. I hope Mamdani victory can inspire the next generation of democrats to grow a spine

  3. Believe the point of this was to get Repugnants to allow the ACA premiums to not skyrocket. Now with ‘The Wall Came Tumbling Down’ scenario, looks as if the payments will certainly go into orbit. Trust the Repugs at their word to not let this happen? What? Have the Dems not yet learned that they lie to your face and behind your back. Most times with a blade sunken deep to Democracy.

What lessons can the Republicans learn from this? Never compromise on anything because the Democrats will always cave.

  5. Democrats are the villains of this saga now.

Thousands federal workers have lost their jobs, never to return (let’s not pretend some tepid letter from the Senate will convince Russell Vought to reverse the federal worker purge he’s been dreaming of since the 80s). Tens of thousands of Americans were starved. And everyone’s healthcare prices goes up anyway (because let’s not pretend like those of us not on ACA will somehow be immune to the corporate greed)!

So who won? Democratic politicians in elections–**that’s it!**

Call your House Dem and ask them to follow Ro Khanna’s lead in calling for Schumer’s removal. For Schumer to be removed as leader, the pressure needs to be ratcheted up. You’re not going to hear Senate Dems calling for Schumer’s ouster until there’s a sizeable group of House Dems that publicly turn against him.

There’s already popular support for replacing Schumer. The next step is support among House Dems. Then the Senate.

    **CALL YOUR HOUSE DEM**

  7. Yep….this solidifies my belief that the dems are in on the privatization of all government.   They wanted trump back in there and they are funded by the same billionaires and thirst for ROI in the stock market.

America is done and will never come back.  Even if you took all outside money from politics from this point forward.  The damage is done and Republicans will control it all until we crash

  8. There wasn’t a point. No amount of spinning and no amount of painting this as a win for the people will matter. They set out for one thing, and didn’t get it. All the pain, was for nothing. All the pain just showed the GOP their bully tactics and human shield tactics with the American people work to get their way. It was all for nothing. Except a promise that’ll be broken by the leader of the domestic terrorists they were holding the line against.

  9. If the republicans were going to fund ACA they wouldn’t be arranging for a vote on it weeks from now lol

  10. Somehow protecting the filibuster and their corporate overlords was more important than getting literally anything of value out of the Republicans

  11. How can anyone continue to support “centrists” democrats anymore? This is what they do, performative bullshit. They got nothing from this, we know what a promise is worth from the republicans. Its worth nothing. NOTHING. STOP SUPPORTING THESE PEOPLE! We need a Mamdani in every single democratic primary until we can clean out all this worthless old wood.

  12. Ah yes the reason the democrats got landslides last election. Virtue signal everything, do nothing. They could have passed Medicaid for all years ago.. they didnt.

The worst part is the democrats were winning… then they just decided to lose. They had Trump and the Republicans taking the full blame, the people were angry at the right people. Now we have nothing and got nothing and it was all for nothing. It’s absolute idiocy.

  14. They got a rollback of RIF, and they have another chance to shut it all down on Jan 30 if the GOP doesn’t follow through. This wasn’t a complete waste. Schumer didn’t fold like last time and none of the 8 Senators are vulnerable/up for election 2026 since Durbin and Shaheen are retiring. Thune wasn’t budging on ACA subsidies.

  15. I try to not get involved in this scene now a days fellow democrats. I just stick to finance and making money.

I had a little bit of hope, and it just got fucking snuffed. Use this. Use this pain to remove every goddam democrat in office that won’t fight for us.
