  1. >Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) is calling on Senate Democrats to replace Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) as leader

  2. As minority leader Schumer made zero attempt to control the narrative for 40 days. He avoided the camera and didn’t go on the offensive when he had the cards.

He should be replace just for that alone.

It doesn’t matter, it’s all charade. The Republicans got exactly what they wanted and the Democrats are fighting amongst themselves. It’s not just Schumer and Jeffries, most of the party is corrupt and complicit in ushering in the ERA of American Fascism.

It’s not going to get better, the midterms won’t fix this. The donor class is consolidating power with zero effective resistance.

  4. That’s great, maybe the voters can try not voting for incumbents every time and doing some research on the newer, no name progressive candidates that run in every electron but don’t have the money or the means to create viral social media posts to catching their waning attention.

  5. I was a Schumer defender during the shutdown. Now I am perfectly fine kicking him out of leadership.

Chuck Schumer should remove all 8 yes voters from committee assignments but he won’t cause he was a part of the plan by Dick durbin minority whip from the beginning.

Replace them both with Democrats with a spine.

I hate Chuck. Those new glasses he got a month ago make him look slightly more lucid, but his actions show that he is not fit to lead. He’s a tired, weak fool.

Schumer can strip the Hateful 8 of all their committee assignments or he can be removed as leader. Easy enough choice right?

Imagine what we could accomplish is Democrat politicians rallied around their constituents instead of corrupt leadership and donors.

The democrats just happily decided to fuck over Americans. Spineless controlled opposition who shut down the government only to fold without any sort of negotiation. It’s mind blowing.

  11. [Conservatism](https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/conservatism) — by definition — is “a political philosophy based on tradition and social stability, **stressing the importance of established hierarchies and institutions** (such as religion, the family, and **class structure**), and preferring gradual development to abrupt change”.

Liberals^(TM) (Democratic Party centrists/moderates) are *conservative* (center-right) [by Western political standards] as the hierarchy they subscribe to and promote is purely a financial one (capitalism), while Republican Party (far-right) promote financial, racist, sexist, nationalist, and/or anti-LGBTQ+ (those who do not conform to sexual and gender norms) hierarchies.

That’s *exactly* why the center (hierarchical) and progressive (egalitarian) wings of the Democratic Party are constantly at odds with one another, and why the former have — and always will — side with conservatives over progressives: institutions of hierarchy will always stand by other institutions of hierarchy, lest one of them collapse and show the world — specifically, those on the lower echelons — that other hierarchies can be challenged and collapsed as well.

  13. I mean I don’t think it’s the worst strategy to run on extending the Obamacare subsidies that the GOP canceled and not starve people by withholding SNAP. But you have to come out swinging and not let it become a civil war.

Schumer’s plan to hide and do nothing, when contrasted with a young populist overcoming the entire American establishment to win a mayoral election really puts our future choices into perspective for me.

Zorhan beat the most bipartisan candidate in modern political history in Andrew Cuomo even though Cuomo had every single advantage. He had the sitting Republican president endorsing him. He had former Democratic president Bill Clinton endorsing him. He has the richest man on earth endorsing him. He had multiple former and current Democratic NYC Mayors, Governors, and state politicians endorse him. He had Walmart heirs and casino moguls and hedge fund billionaires all supporting him financially. He had the media entirely on his side, calling Zorhan a terrorist.

Every ounce of power in our system was on Cuomo’s side and he lost. Maybe the lesson is that proud, brash, and serious messaging about improving the quality of life is our path forward, because all I’ve seen under our current leadership is Republicans get to undo 70 years of American progress in a decade.

    Time to go Chuck.
