If this is to create a feeling that if you commit crimes for him he’ll get you off the hook, that’s a very large gamble especially if you’ve already done jail time, or had your life destroyed by fines, job losses, etc.

I had speculated whether an acceptance of a pardon for federal offenses could be used as evidence against the accused in a state case for the same crime. This basically answers my question in this case, which is that there are no formal federal charges for them to be pardoned for.

  3. I wouldn’t say fake pardons…he indeed cant pardon what these electors/conspirators did in terms of state crimes but they most likely committed federal crimes too trying to overturn the election

This stops any federal investigations later by a Dem president

  4. Can’t pardon state crimes, but what this does do is it admits and accepts the crimes were committed, meaning Trump and republicans literally did try to steal the 2020 election while screaming about stolen election and election fraud for 4 entire years. Crazy how that fact will just get ignored though, we have a political party that tried to commit a coup (twice actually, that we know of) and got away with it, and if they got away with it twice(?) they will try again. I know there are plenty of examples that show our country and democracy is dead, but this is one of the top ones. This also has desensitized our country to these kind of things. Watergate was a huge scandal and now it looks like nothing, the public will just shrug off attempted coups now I guess. And one day one of their coups will work, if not already, and our country just won’t care. Half the country will be enraged and the other half will defend it and just like we’ve seen over the last 15 years, everything will just be deadlocked and split right down the middle. All you need is half a country and its elected officials to support your crimes and you can get away with literally anything.

  5. Actually, since its phrased to cover all future federal charges, its very possible he’s pardoning them with intent to try it again, but at a broader level. A FEDERAL level. Pay attention. This isnt Trump, its Miller, and its no joke.

He believes that government is run like a business—one he owns outright and has the right to run however he wants. There is no chance of convincing a malignant narcissist that he is subject to anyone else’s rules, including ours. In what is left of his mind, I am sure he thinks he’s sure that there is nothing wrong. This is just the way the game is played. May he rot with Roy Cohn in hell when his time has stopped.

It doesn’t matter. He is signaling he will protect anyone who participates in a coup on his behalf. It should trigger an immediate impeachment

Trump’s attempt to pardon the fake elector schemers is a dog whistle, a recruitment call for the 2026 midterms.

  9. Trump is long in the tooth. People committing crimes on his behalf need to consider that he may not be available for pardon their crimes next time. It took years to get to this point.

Also the president cannot pardon state crimes. Epstein files. Remember the White House. No Kings.

  10. This should be reported more. I keep seeing and hearing stories of Trump pardoning this group and I haven’t noticed MSM explaining why it really doesn’t accomplish anything by doing so. It is a non-story and should be addressed as such.
