Not just Chuck.. I, for one, am pretty tired of watching a bunch of dying old rich white people hobble over to the graves of our founding fathers and take turns exposing their wrinkly bits to unceremoniously piss on said graves.

    But that’s just my opinion.

  2. Duh. There’s more than 8 establishment Democrats. Everyone in the party was onboard with a fight that they said was crucial and life saving and everyone stuck their neck out on it… and they were winning. Then 8 Democrats undermined everyone else and said “actually it’s not really as important as we were saying and now that we won some elections we can stop”.

Either Schumer allowed it or he doesn’t have his house in order enough to merit his position. When the whip in the Senate who is responsible for keeping the Party in line is crossing over the line, you have a leadership problem.

  3. Hard to look at this deal as anything other than leadership looking to preserve the filibuster ahead of more progressive candidates getting elected.

Every moderate, corporate and conservative Dem has got to go. They have prevented good Dem legislation from being passed, every time, for decades.

Every Dem who voted with the Reich needs to resign and resign today. They are no longer of any use.

  5. You know, I’ve never seen organized right wing media take more than casual shot at Schumer. Very unlike Schiff or Pelosi, who get it with both barrels.

They seem in on the fact he’s an asset.

  6. Every one of the 8, Chuck Schumer, anyone else involved, and Hakeem Jeffries for defending him and also sucking in general.

Vote Progressive my friends, we’re the only real faction that hasn’t been completely captured by money.

Asked Dem Sen. Elizabeth Warren whether she believes Senate Democrats need new leadership.

She replied: “I don’t have a comment on that.”

Sanders: Schumer and I have very fundamental disagreements about where the Democratic party should be, and I am strongly supporting candidates for the senate who are not part of the Democratic establishment, who believe in medicare for all, who are prepared to take on the big money interests and fight for working people. I have a very different vision of where the Democratic party should go.

If Schumer steps down, who is going to take his place? The truth is, progressives in the senate are right now—I think there are about 8 or 9 of us. We are pretty much of a minority.

Sen. Murphy on calls for Schumer’s ouster:

“I think that he has a really hard job, and that we clearly have a repeating problem in our caucus, that the minority of members are are reaching deals with Republicans. That’s a problem that the whole caucus has to solve, that would be difficult for any leader to manage.”

Asked Sen. Mark Kelly if he had confidence in Schumer.

“I’ve been here four and a half years now, and he’s been the leader, and I understand why people look at this and say, well, this was kind of a rough period. But it’s Donald Trump who forced the government to be shut down.”

  9. We need protests at all of their offices, all 8 traitors and Schumer. Show the other Dems that this is what happens when you stab your constituents in the back

  10. So, outside of the US of A – tell me, what is the news cycle about? I’m guessing this did more than anything to keep it off Epstein?

And all the talking heads are going on about the civil war amongst the Dems? Their reputation must be tanking.

If anything comes out of this whole shutdown it should be Schumer’s removal as Senate Minority Leader.

  12. David Hogg was right and they kicked him out of the DNC for it. Primary all incumbents, especially Schumer.

  13. There is something very eerie about Chuck, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s got a ton of skeletons in his closet.

Five days of hope and now the wife and I are back to planning where to move to. Fucking disgusted with every last mainstream dem at this point. Everything is broken and nobody is listening to their constituents.

  15. The Democrats need to establish age limits inside their own party, cuz let’s be honest it’s never going to happen at a national level.

A total failure of leadership and strategy.

They wanted to use their vote as leverage to get ACA subsidies back. They withhold votes. Government shuts down for 42 days.

Now all of the sudden the strategy is, show the American people that economic hard times are because of GOP policies, not because of Washington dysfunction, and make the GOP vote no on ACA subsidies.

Spoiler, they will vote no and will not be punished electorally for it. And now you’ve had a shutdown for 42 days so the GOP will successively convince their voters that all of their economic problems are democrats fault because the shutdown.

They fucked up. I blame leadership for mixing two incongruent strategies

He’s gonna check in with the Baileys and to no one’s surprise, they’re going to insist he stay “for the good of the party.”

    FUCK. CHUCK. SCHUMER.

  18. For me it’s not just about Schumer. Schumer has been in the senate almost 30 years and has held political office for 50 years. This is detrimental to the country to have people in office for their entire life and still serving at 74. We need some sort of term limits so that we have people in office that have had a life outside of political office as well as to rotate fresh ideas into political office, as well as to reduce the bought and paid for nature of longtime political incumbents.

Only this incompetent douche could take the momentum that was gained last week and wipe it out completely.

  20. What should Schumer be doing differently and how would that motivate the Republicans to make concessions?

  21. Agile_End_3049 on

We need new leadership in the Democratic Party before 2026. Primary Chuck Schumer and vote him out in 2028.
