  1. The goal is to get the bottom half of America to like him even more, and its going to work. There are already people salivating at the prospect of a 2,000$ check while “the man” reaches into their back pocket and steals their wallet.

Thats all it costs to buy the average and sub-average American.

It’s a stimulus to soften(and increase) inflation, done under the guise of a “dividend”

  3. They will cost nothing because they won’t happen. Just more of the same ridiculous impossible lies.

$5000 dividend from all the DOGE savings, $2000 dividend from all the excess tariff revenue.

It’s going to be a good Christmas for Americans (sarc)

Don’t give up hope, they will be promised again right before the midterms and also right before the 2028 election.

  5. “I remember the inflection of his voice when he said it: **‘Donald Trump was the dumbest goddamn student I ever had!’”** He would say that [Trump] came to Wharton thinking he already knew everything, that he was arrogant and he wasn’t there to learn.” Kelley, who passed away in 2011 at age 94, taught marketing at Wharton for 31 years, retiring in 1982*

  6. It won’t happen, but Trump made it sound like a definitive promise of $2,000 checks.

Cue the scapegoating of the Supreme Court if they shoot down his tariffs. He’ll just blame them when he can’t deliver.

Even the math in the article is wrong. To date we are talking about 225 billion in revenues. 77 billion is a normal year, so those funds are already utilized in the budget and we can’t count them twice.

I can’t help but think he’s walking into the strip club thinking that making it rain means we aren’t being exploited. He’s exploiting every American and as many of the others in the world that he can. And not even with his own money.

It’s funny how every Republican president gives out free money and boosting national debt, all the while boasting of fiscal conservatism.

  9. Lmfao holy shit.. didn’t he do this before with the American public. Sending out $2,000 rebate checks 😂. Trying to butter you guys up.

  10. There’s no chance this will happen and even if it did that 2 grand is a joke compared to $1.1 trillion being slashed off the Affordable Care Act. This cut will result in deaths to many Americans as they just won’t be able to afford any kind of real health care. It’s cruel and sick to think this Administration will just let this go ahead and then try to grift the public into thinking a $2,000 check will have any impact in helping what is about to happen over the next 10 years.

This is the equivalent of a pickpocket taking $100 from your wallet and giving you $1 back, then expecting you to praise them for returning the wallet.

Where’s all the screeching conservative voters crying about how this will “bankrupt” their grandchildren?

Among the list of math errors made by him, this is a relatively minor one, he claimed that pharmaceutical prices would decrease by 1500%

  14. They are not a serious proposal, just like $5,000 DOGE checks, a Republican Healthcare plan, infrastructure week, promises of getting drug prices in line with other nations etc.

  15. Lickin_my_Chkn_pogs on

Republicans / conservatives sharing money with regular people? Don’t hold your fuckin breath.

  16. Dramatic_Original_55 on

And all this ignores the fact that tariff revenues are money that largely came from consumers in the first place. It’s like robbing Peter to pay…Peter.

  17. letscallitanight on

Why are they calling it “revenue” when the money is paid by the US businesses, who pass their cost increases on to us, the consumer?

  18. I’m amazed anyone, including the media, is taking this seriously.

He needs to lay out a written policy with actual math before we listen.

And the math here, unlike the integral calculus used to fully understand magnetism, is simple arithmetic.

  19. Don’t let math or economics or common fucking sense deter you from enacting your fabulous ideas.

  20. The same people in my life who ripped dems to shreds for wanting stimulus checks when the world was shutdown and people were dying are the same ones who are praising these checks that we’ll most likely never see.

Don’t let them fool you, if this was a democrat doing it, they’d be calling for their heads in the street.

  21. of_course_you_are on

But his idiot followers will believe that and be waiting for it just like they are for the DOGE check.

The no tax on tips and overtime is if you itemize and if you make less than a determined amount. But here’s the deal, if you can itemize then you’re also above the amounts to not pay the tax. These idiots continue to believe everything he says.

  22. Esoteric-Reference on

I’m still waiting for my DODGE dividend. I bet air traffic controllers are gonna rake it in between DODGE, tariffs, and the recently promised $10,000 shutdown checks.
