Unfortunately the house probably has the votes. Fuck the 8 senators that crossed the line and the senate leadership that let it happen and more likely than not actively helped it succeed.

  2. If only there was something 8 assholes could’ve done differently.

But we get a promised (no) vote!

They need to lean on some of the House GOP to revolt. Anyone up for reelection soon in the House?

Good move, as the shut down is impacting too much of the economy. Numbers show that the extension of the health care subsidies will help more people that voted for trump anyway. Not to say many will be hurt that do need the assistance, it will hurt. Maybe the midterms will reflect the disgust the people feel with the ruling party.

  5. Doing what? Writing a strong worded letter? The time for action passed and they blew it, again.

Unless AOC and Katie take over the reins, they have no future.

  6. If the DNC was looking for an opportunity to show that they’re ready to turn the page on these old centrist ~~democrats~~ republicans, well, there couldn’t be a better one than right now.

If I’m the DNC, I’m working overtime trying to put as much daylight between the energy that the electorate gave the party last week, and the deflated ballsack that is the current Democratic leadership.

And to add – taking no action is still taking an action. Their silence will be deafening if they don’t come out with a stance on this.

The house won’t hold a vote until they get their next republican rep. They won’t risk the Epstein files being released

  8. As House Republican leaders move to hold a vote on legislation to reopen the US government, top Democrats vowed on Tuesday to oppose the bill for not addressing their demand for more healthcare funding.

Democrats have for weeks demanded that any measure to fund the government include an extension of tax credits for Affordable Care Act health plans, which were created under Joe Biden and due to expire at the end of the year, sending premiums for enrollees higher.

With Donald Trump’s encouragement, Congress’s Republican leaders refused, sparking a spending standoff that resulted in the longest government shutdown in US history. But the Democrats’ resolve cracked earlier this week, when a splinter group in the Senate joined with the GOP to craft a compromise bill that reauthorizes government funding through January, without extending the tax credits.

The Senate passed that legislation on Monday evening, and the House of Representatives is expected consider it beginning on Wednesday afternoon. The chamber’s top Democrats oppose it, with the minority leader, Hakeem Jeffries, on Monday calling it a “partisan Republican spending bill that continues to gut the healthcare of the American people.

“No matter what comes over to us from the United States Senate to the House of Representatives at some point this week, our position as House Democrats has been crystal clear: we will sit down with any Republicans, anytime, anyplace, anywhere, in order to find a bipartisan path forward, but we’re not down with their ‘my way or the highway’ approach to governance that’s failed the American people,” he said.

  9. Primary every moderate. These people are phonies and are clearly in on the grift. Chances are if we checked their bank accounts in the past week, they have received so lovely “donations” from some wealthy conservative interests.

No more vote blue no matter who. Its vote progressive or enjoy two to four more years of fascism. I just watched moderates fight harder to crush Mondami and Platner than they ever fought against maga for anything. Done with them. They need to be purged from the democratic party and I will not vote for any moderates ever again. Don’t ask me to. I will let republicans win.

Millennials and Gen Z have experienced nothing but republican crashed economies for most of our lives. You think we can’t handle another few year to make sure moderates never get their way again? Fucking try us. Moderate older voters will bend the knee or keep dealing with fascism. The time for moderates is over no matter what. You choose now. Would you rather be led by people like Trump or people like Bernie? You’re people suck so its over for them. Neoliberalism is dead.

“Democrats shake fits and yell while doing nothing to stop MAGA from destroying the country”

  11. You BETTER by God! Voters had the chops this past election in hopes you guys would do the same and stand firm. Senate had our solidarity behind them and they licked dementia Donny’s boots. The house better not cave!

BS. Democrat leadership worked this deal behind the scenes, they wanted this to pass. The 8 senators were chosen because they are either not running again or their seats are safe. Real tired of these dudes pissing on our leg but telling us its raining.

  13. You know how when you were little and you would try to fight someone much bigger than you and they would just put their hand on your forehead while your arms flailed in front of you uselessly? This feels like that.

I will never fucking forgive Senate Dems for this shit.
