I am not setting foot in the United States again as long as the Republican Party is still a thing.
Trump being removed from office or dying is not enough. The United States would have to have a serious upheavel, in which the mentality that made Trumpism ever possible is utterly defeated for me to even consider crossing that border again.
I am talking…. thousands of people who protected Trump would need to go to jail for me to even consider it.

This year a lot of people either paid for their vacation or put down a deposit on a place to stay so next year there should be worse for tourism.

I have a handful of American friends who are great people, but I have no real reason to go. I have everything I need in Canada and there is a whole world to explore if I felt the need to go on a trip. I don’t feel like I’m missing anything.
Who wants to be harassed by thugs with guns, be detained, have your phone, luggages and vehicle searched because your pedo of a president holds a grudge over its closest neighbors? Nah fuck that I’ll stay home.

I work with tourism brands across the country and the numbers are bad (and going to get worse). We’re immediately feeling Canadians not coming because the booking windows are shorter but we’re starting to see other countries that have longer booking windows fall off.
It’s good though that people are still going to Canada from the US and the Canadians are as welcoming as always. I was in Ontario twice this year fishing and they were cool and welcoming as always.
No trips to the States for me (mostly Hawaii) until the Fascists are gone. That’s between $10,000 and $20,000 per year going to Mexico and Europe instead. 🇨🇦

I got places visit that don’t pose an existential threat to my country’s existence. I just got back from south FL and this time of year half of the license plates would be from Canada, counted less than 10 over 4 days.

I’m just glad I don’t live there. Like, more than usual.
It is not safe to visit the US. On a daily basis, people are rounded up without a warrant by masked men and taken away somewhere or other. Who wants to risk being caught up in that? And the US regime does not seem to respect the rule of law so if something goes wrong it is unlikely you will be able to protect yourself against the arbitrary use of force.
