  1. I thought the election was held weeks ago, why did she wait so long? Kidding, kidding, also Republicans are corrupt manipulative cowards.

  2. Fucking finally. Mike Johnson tried to delay this for as long as humanly possible, but it’s finally happening. It’s time to get House Republicans on the record about releasing the Epstein files. How many of them will vote to protect pedophiles?

  3. I don’t expect the Republicans to stop trying to cheat now that this particular attempt at cheating (keeping the House out of session) is over. Every day is another con, and I’m betting we’ll see the next one soon.

    >House rules stipulate that the petition will have to “ripen” for ***at least seven legislative days***. After that, a member can provide notice of the intent to discharge the legislation, at which point the Speaker must schedule a vote within two legislative days.

    Long way to go

  5. Really have to keep my hopes/expectations in check. We have been burned so many fucking times in this timeline.

The orange fool needs to absolutely pay for his crimes.

  6. All the Maga that voted yes before are going to cote no on the house floor, your all dumb if you think that stuff is getting released

  7. > And even if it passes in the House, it faces an uphill climb to become law, as it would have to pass in the Republican-controlled Senate before making it to President Trump’s desk.

So if Senate Republicans don’t block it, it can still draw a veto.

This is something but also, how far will it actually get? Seems like it’s quite likely nothing will come of this. I did read the article quickly so perhaps I misunderstood so feel free to correct me.

  9. If you read the article, there are many more obstacles to overcome before anything sees the light of day. Chances are something will stop it along the way. Republicans are good at delaying shit.

I watched this live. Did she literally take two steps and sign it right there? Amazing if so.

I don’t see why this is a big deal. It won’t be taken up by the Senate. If it is taken up, it won’t pass. Even if it is taken up and passes the Senate, it won’t be signed by Trump and there isn’t enough of a majority to override a veto.

  12. The Doj will decline to release the files now and it’ll go to the scotus where they’ll rule in favor of trump

  13. Finally, it’s about time we get some transparency on this. The Epstein case has been swept under the rug for too long

And now it’s frozen. Once it got the 218th signature, nobody can remove their signature.

  15. Many steps to go:

There is a long way to go, though, before the bill gets a House vote, which would happen in early December at the soonest.

And even if it passes in the House, it faces an uphill climb to become law, as it would have to pass in the Republican-controlled Senate before making it to President Trump’s desk.

  16. Now Pam Bondi will sit on it, and trump will throw it into the courts and have the Supreme Court delay it.
The actual non manipulated files will never be released

  17. Okay… so it gets a vote in the house, then Senate, then to the President. So if it somehow makes it this far, information releases in some state to the public. At which point…what? We have no government branch that will prosecute this. I want it all released as much as the next guy, but it all feels hopeless.

  18. I hope this leads to serious investigation. There are too many powerful people involved for this to just fade away
