I’ve not heard of a single Democrat of leftist who’d suggest that a Bill Clinton, Reid Hoffman,or Larry Summers shouldn’t be investigated and/or prosecuted if they’ve an association with Epstein that is being revealed as criminal. I mean, if Bill Clinton sexually abused some 15-year old girl, sure, perp walk him, arrest, trial, etc. So this “what about” from Trump rings hollow.
I honestly believe that the goal for the Republicans is to kick this can down the road enough to get past the midterms. Turning on Trump now would be disastrous politically. This may just be a matter of timing and political expediency for the party and what has Trump panicked is realizing the party may turn on him. Trump steps down after the mid-terms, Vance steps in, and they get busy trying to ensure an outcome for 2028 that just continues this descent into authoritarianism, just with less of a wildcard at the helm.
Trump sees this and dude isn’t even worried about the Democrats or the public. He’s freaking out about his party, packed with Christians who’d flip in a second if it helped them.
