Republicans should call his bluff and vote unanimously to release the Epstein files. Presuming that Democrats would also vote unanimously, this would also provide a veto-proof majority.

Call it a bs. He is probably making his goons to redact or remove anything that gives a slight reference to him. And then release them

  3. He will release them. They’ve already been modified. So he’s good now. That’s why the sudden agreeement to release.

  4. Well, yeah, now that there is an active criminal investigation underway, DOJ can’t release anything. Trump wants to release the – really he does, trust me broh;) – but he can’t. DOJ policy, and we wouldn’t want to interfere with investigations. So what’s a corrupt more likely than not pedophile to do?

  5. I’m guessing that:

    A) FBI has done a “good enough” job of sanitizing the Epstein files to hide evidence/reference to Trump’s involvement.
    B) Trump thinks it’s unlikely this motion will pass in house and senate.
    C) Pam Bondi will default to not authorizing its release due to “ongoing investigation”.

  6. Honestly I think he’s gotten the FBI or some other body to fully scrub his name from the report(either redacted or falsified other names) within the last few days, and because of it he’s fine if it gets released.

It’s also a bit insidious as if people do release/leak the original report his followers will just say it’s fake and the officially released ond is real.

Granted that’s just my tinfoil hat theory about it

He knows Republicans are voting for it. He wants to pretend they did because he told them to. It’s always about his ego.

I’m of the opinion he’s had the DOJ redacting, scrubbing and purging any reference to himself beyond what the public already knows. And if not, don’t be surprised if the vote passes, but we’re told “DOJ can’t provide details in an open investigation.” (I think that was the whole point if directing Bondi to investigate Bill Clinton)

  9. Either he has had a year to scrub these files, or he’s planning a move to hold a ton back because he’s opening an investigation into Dems in the files.

We still don’t have his tax returns due to BS…that second scenario makes sense.

It’s time for the crappy economy to get back on the front burner til midterms. And the healthcare and food stamps he’s taking away from the people who need it the most.

That brilliant 50 year mortgage is the equivalent of Jimmy Carter telling people to put on an extra sweater when oil prices went nuts.

Not to mention he’s just itching to start a war with somebody.

He’s trying to root out his “traitors”. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s on his last hail Mary here.

  11. He’s setting it up so he can say that he supported releasing the files because he’s the most transparent president ever, but then it’ll sit on his desk unsigned because he’s too busy running the war in Venezuela. He supported it, but he can’t sign it right now because there are more pressing issues.

  12. Can someone put together a video of the “I have the files on my desk”, “there are no files”, “I’m ok with the files being released”. Just the whole lot of these liars doing what they do best
