This was always a given, especially with Trump being so down for them to be released suddenly. This administration has shown how incompetent they can be even holding all the cards, you can expect them to leave in a few things that can be followed up on, contradictions here and there, etc;

It’s frankly the only reason I expect there’s suddenly a push for it. Heck, wouldn’t be surprised if the “shutdown” was just time they spent doctoring everything, knowing it’d come right back up when it was over. They’re not so stupid they’d just willingly reveal a criminal underworld that implicates them. This was always supposed to be a Democrat hit piece (or at least shied away from other major personalities) and that’s the best we’ll get.

this idea still strikes me as pretty dumb. sure they can change the documents, but there are *hundreds* of victims. unless they murdered all of them, then they can just be like ‘nah, that shit’s wrong. here’s the real list’. and they can read it from the house floor so noone can get sued. i’m pretty sure MTG already said she would at some point.
Hopefully they can get those text messgaes/call logs and hold those people scrubbing the republicans accountable.

It’s impossible for them to get away with it because first of all, you cannot do that without leaving a trace. Second of all, so many people would need to be involved that they could never keep it a secret.
Trump’s concealment is a lost cause. The Epstein Estate has all the emails and hasn’t been objecting to data requests. This is how we know so much already.
I wish the drafters/sponsors of the Epstein Files Transparency Act would have included provisions allowing for *in camera* review of the Govt’s redactions to ensure they are not simply redacting names of Republicans, friends of Trump, & GOP donors. Presumably any individual redactions could be challenged through the normal FOIA process but that would take waaaay too long.
Teflon Don strikes again. This is why he suddenly flipped his position to being ok now to have them released because the version being released has only now just been scrubbed of any incriminating evidence against him and his cronies.
We knew that when Trump asked Patel to remove his name from the files over the summer… do we all have short-term memory loss?
Hopefully Epstein’s brother will find a concious and release what he has.

Of course they are scrubbing names from the files. The only names that should be redacted are those of the victims.
It took months to redact his name from the files. He must be in them an impressive amount for it to take this long in the age of AI automation.
I expect *worse than nothing* from these files being released.
It won’t be done in good faith, it will be done as an attempt to redirect the Epstein story away from the central character of Donald Trump and towards politically harmless scapegoats.
However I also expect more horrific details about Trump’s many escapades in pedophilia to surface because we’re just at the tip of the iceberg and the truth will out.
But that won’t happen unless people keep demanding the truth – the real truth and not Trump’s distorted fantasy version of it.
