Who was the 1 repub who voted nay?

That’s a huge red flag. They’re almost guaranteed implicated.

  2. Lol, “risks disclosure of non-credible allegations”. We have to protect these wealthy and powerful men!

  3. The Kabuki Theater is on its way to the Senate. This is no where near the finish line. And even if the Senate does not intentionally fumble it, my vote is on Trump and a pocket Veto

So is it a resolution that’s meaningless or a bill with teeth? cause there is a difference

He has the power to demand their release at any time, he can just release them. Nobody, but himself stands in the way of their release.

Pass it clean through the Senate and have Trump sign it. I have heard zero concerns from the victims about this, and fuck everyone involved. “Innocent”.

Anything but full disclosure is a fucking joke.

  7. Great, so in a few years, after dozens of court cases, we’ll get a few redacted documents without any information!

If John and Jane Q. Public know that they are going to not release it because “there is an active investigation” into democrats (which is weird because I thought it was a democrat hoax, but there’s nothing but democrats implicated) how are they going to square this with the public? When we can all see how blatantly corrupt and manipulative of the system they are? It’s baffling and frustrating that this is happening. And it’s only 1 of MANY ignorant, wasteful, hateful, ILLEGAL individuals things they do.

  9. Wait a minute… 6ish weeks ago, we needed 1 democratic vote to pass the release of the files because it was pretty split on releasing the files. Now Trump says do it and everyone except 1 votes yes?

I already know something is up, but I want everyone else to think this through. Why (rhetorical) the sudden change on such a large number of senators?

Given the sudden 180 from the administration….there’s zero chance these files haven’t been either altered or redacted to oblivion. Or both.

  11. So is it likely some Democrat Congress critters have access to the full unredacted report? Would someone be able to accidentally release the full unredacted report in the event they do the obvious play and cover up Trump’s involvement?

  12. Ok, great. Now what happens? Given that the Republicans control all 3 branches of government, I don’t see how this changes anything.

Trump has been getting away with blatant illegal activites and behavior his entire life. I mean heck, the Supreme Court of the United States gave him a free pass to do what ever the fuck he wants without consequence.

I truly hope that this is the pivot point that brings the US back from the brink. However, given previous experience, I highly doubt it. Especially with Trump finally agreeing about releasing the files and all but one of the House Republicans going along with it. Clearly, they’ve either doctored and redacted the files or they’ve got another ace up their sleeve.

I hope they try to redact and amend the files before release, and someone is waiting for them to do it and has a Pentagon Papers leak of the Epstein Files. Catch these fuckers dead to rights in the cover up.

How do we persecute those who hid and covered up the files once this regime crashes and burns to bring justice to everyone?

Alright, so I speculated some loose theories on why GOP leaders did a sudden reversal. Keep in mind that this is armchair politics:

    1. It won’t pass the full legal process, or *”I can’t release my tax returns because I’m being audited”*

Trump is gambling on that it will either fall short in the senate, where it requires 60 votes to pass, or that if he gets it on his desk, they’ll pull some kind of argument with that ”an investigation has been re-opened in the Jeffrey Epstein case and it’s too sensitive right now to release any files”. We go back to square one.

    2. The files will be redacted, or *”It’s all a big club, and you’re not in it!”*

The actual files released will be so filled with black bars that it’s impossible to gain any salient knowledge from them. Anyone close to Trump will be shielded. Anyone who’s associated with the Democrats, they’ll be happy to leave in. Naturally, they’ll allow a name or two from the right to be left in as a sacrificial lamb so that they can show how bipartisan they are, but ultimately Trump is protected and his base will move on. Probably his best case scenario.

    3. Trump is so sure of his base that he’s got nothing to fear, or *”I could shoot a guy on Fifth Avenue and not lose any votes”*

This is the scariest albeit least plausible scenario. Trump is name dropped in the files and it’s clear as sin he’s guilty, but he knows his base has got his back. MAGA begins a reversal in which they say that what Trump did wasn’t so bad, it was years ago so we should move on, he’s the president, he’s done such a great job etc. Child rape becomes politically acceptable. Trump revels in victory.

    4. Trump is doing worse than people know, or *”I’m not sure I’ll be able to make heaven”*

There’s been a lot of speculation about Trump’s health in the past year, from his bloated hands with spots on them to his increasingly slurred, disoriented and tired way of speaking. We find out that he’s actually one foot in his grave, so it doesn’t matter if he’s mentioned in the files or not, the legal or democratic process won’t move nearly fast enough to see him face any consequences for his actions so he might as well release the files, he doesn’t care anymore.

There’s a final scenario, granted, where Trump isn’t mentioned at all and he knows it. He’ll come away from this looking surprisingly great. That doesn’t vibe with the refusal to even acknowledge the movement to get the files released in the first place though, so I can’t really subscribe to that theory.
