this man is the answer to the question, “what would the offspring of a worm, a rat, and a weasel look like?”

  2. So he voted to release the files and askes the Senate to keep them from being released. If anyone even tries to claim this is not a cover up they should have their hard drives searched by the FBI.

  3. And now Johnson’s true colors are coming out… Mike Johnson’s goal has always been to protect pedophiles, he is a disgrace of a human being.

  4. Wait a sec, didn’t he just vote for it and say there was “nothing to hide” in it? Now he says it needs “major changes” in the Senate?

  5. Pretend_Pea4636 on

Who is going to stand up to defend pedophiles in the Senate after just one congressional member stood alone in the House? No one is taking that bullet for Trump. I predict a veto proof passing.

  6. LOL! Does anyone listen to House Speakers Mike Johnson?
The Senate quickly passed the bill mandating the DOJ release the Epstein files. The legislation next goes to Trump, who has said he will sign it.

  7. Listen, when these files come out? They’re going to be entirely corrupted by the Donny dipshit sycophants that don’t actually do their job correctly but exist to cushion his depravity and criminality. Kash patel and Pam bondi will sell
Their soul to protect this predator. And there’s no doubt they’ve tampered with the files.

So when those files are released. The only ones that are actually going to buy them is the nutty cult that exist for these fake narratives and are utter morons.

  8. Why the hell are our leaders terrified of this file? At this point the damage from their inaction is far greater than anything in those files. And I doubt much of it is actionable or the DOJ would have acted. The only justice all those victims get is seeing Maxwell coddled in club fed after she helped trump.

Americans would be much more likely to believe that Trump’s latest call for the GOP to finally release the “Epstein files” is genuine if his administration, alongside the DOJ and Republicans in Congress weren’t making every kind of effort over the last several months to run interference for Trump, delay votes, withhold information and divert attention away from this scandal and the president’s deep ties to the world’s most notorious child sex trafficker.

Ffs, Republicans—Mike Johnson especially—even used the government shutdown as an excuse to suppress the disclosure of Epstein related documents.

Johnson deliberately delayed swearing in congresswoman Grijalva in order to prevent her from being the yes needed on a discharge petition that would force a vote on the further release of Epstein material.

Hell, in response to Democrats releasing emails last the week obtained by the Epstein estate, Trump ordered Republicans to not authorize any additional disclosures. Mere days have passed and Trump has completely changed his tune?

After months of trying desperately to bury this scandal, Trump is now publicly reversing his stance because his administration has made sure to comb through and selectively omit every document, every word, every piece of evidence that could implicate him and anyone he’s trying to protect.

if you think Trump will approve the release of anything remotely transparent, then I have some Trump meme coin to sell you.

It’s already been reported that the FBI was tasked with digging through thousands of pages of Epstein related materials to search for any mention of Trump.

It’s also telling that it took ten months for Republicans to unanimously vote in favor of releasing whatever information the DOJ finds adequate enough to placate their base. And only after their ringleader gave them the ok. Before that, the goal was to obstruct at all costs.

This effort included diversions like the DOJ trying to manufacture “treasonous” charges against Obama while justice department officials were courting Ghislaine Maxwell at the same time.

Trump even sued the WSJ for releasing the infamous birthday letter:

    > The letter concludes: “Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.”

I don’t know how any sensible person can believe that Trump’s about-face reflects a desire for full disclosure or even sympathy for the victims.

And this should be made evident by the fact that his administration has spent the better part of his term eliminating oversight, obfuscating facts and data and putting up barriers to transparency.

Not taking into account Trump’s own desperate efforts to sweep this scandal under the rug since it was first revealed that his administration had no intention of releasing the “Epstein files.”

Or his constant politicizing of the “files” and his insistence that the whole thing is just another “democratic hoax.”

Trump has also contradicted himself on this matter repeatedly. First there were binders full of files, then there weren’t, but Republicans were also releasing carefully selected documents of their own, much of which was previously made public.

Then his administration signaled that the investigation was basically over, but his deputy AG and personal lawyer went to Florida to interview Ghislaine Maxwell in private under the guise of learning more about Epstein’s crimes, but it was really just an effort to orchestrate a cover up with Maxwell in exchange for clemency and a transfer to a cushy, low security, white collar prison nicknamed “club fed.”

Reports came out revealing that Trump’s name appeared in the documents, but Trump continued insisting that it was all a “hoax” while at the same time urging investigations into Democrats who are included in the documents that supposedly never existed in the first place.

Fox News even deliberately edited Trump’s response during an interview when he was asked if he would release the “Epstein client list.”

    > “Yeah, I think we should release it. People deserve to know.”

Fox left out his follow up:

    > “But you have to understand, there’s a lot of lies in that list. A lot of names that shouldn’t be there. You don’t want to ruin innocent lives.”

And now you expect me to believe that Trump’s sudden reversal and the GOP’s belated change of heart are even remotely sincere? Give me a break.

  10. This is a new grift as far as I can recall. Republican elected US House members(s), who are members of the majority party, now vote to approve legislation they do not support, with the intent of having the Republican controlled US Senate vote against it, or perhaps filibuster it. Republicans controlling the US House could have required changes to the bill, but only one voted against it. This just goes to show that at least for Republicans, voting records don’t matter, and don’t reflect an individual’s or the party’s beliefs or intent. That perhaps isn’t a surprise, but it does beg the question … will elected Democrats refrain from using this grift when it is expedient? Edit: Senate passes it. Unless the US House Speaker was taken out of context, the grift questions stand. If POTUS (or whoever) doesn’t sign, he probably wasn’t and the US Senate decided to go grifting as well.

  11. Anyone else have the nagging suspicion the GOP is secretly planning to oust Trump and the only names which were actually redacted will be Congress?

    Particularly GOP members in Congress.

Trump none the wiser. Just a theory.

I feel like Johnson has something personally to lose if these files get out there.

Like he’s squawking about it even more than Trump at this point.

  13. This entire thing is weird. Trump could have released it at any time and pushed against releasing it – even had a falling out with MTG over it. Republicans were not voting to release it and Johnson was vehemently against releasing it.
Now, Trump is in favor of it and it is unanimously passed (-1 dipshit) by the House, then hours later it is unanimously passed by the Senate. WTF is going on. It is not as simple as “It’s under investigation so it can’t be released” because these people voted to release it so their constituents will be pissed and expect action.
It’s not as simple as Trump saying no, nor does releasing it full of redactions make sense. That will look even worse. There is no way that it is being released because I don’t believe no one from the House or Senate is mentioned in it so it shouldn’t have been released. What’s the play here, shredding party so now it’s ready? Something is afoot and I can’t figure out what.
It’s also not that Trump saw the writing on the wall so said pass it. Fuckery is definitely afoot.

  14. They’ve long ago scrubbed the files of anything that incriminates Republicans. This is now just trying to delay the release to keep the story in the news and divert attention from all the other terrible things they are doing. Eventually when the files are released they’ll say “see, told you so”.

  15. 2 late, phuck phace, the senate already passed it. Next stop, Cheeto’s desk. One has to wonder what phuckery lies ahead… stay tuned

He’s trying to cover so hard that I’m starting to think he may be in the files more than trump

  17. I am so confused.

    * The files are on Pam Bondi’s desk
    * The DOJ has completed its investigation
    * The files don’t exist
    * The files exonerate the president
    * It’s a democrat hoax
    * Come to the situation room, we want to talk you out of signing the discharge petition
    * Here are 3 suspicious emails (From the Epstein estate)
    * Here are 20,000 documents. (From the Epstein estate)
    * We’re opening an investigation into democrats on the list.
    * Congress can I vote, “I don’t care, we have nothing to hide” (even though I don’t need congress to order the DOJ to release)
    * The house votes to release, including the speaker.
    * The speaker says the Senate should not vote to release
    * The Senate votes to release (unanimously… when was the last time that happened?)

    This is absolutely nuts.

Senate passed the bill with unanimous consent! Bout damn time Schumer grew a spine. The bill goes straight to Trump the moment the Mike Johnson signs it. Now it’s up to grinder Mike and diddling Don to sign the bill.

  19. It’s an act. The fbi and DOJ have combed through every bit of the evidence and have destroyed evidence that can lead back to Trump and have redacted his name from everything in there.

They have broken the law and he will get away with it and all of his faithful gop henchmen will flock to the journalists to crow about how it was some big waste of time and “ThE dEmOcRaTs” were wrong and it was a “hOaX”. I would damn near put money on it.

  20. Plot twist: the Senate passed it so fast that they went out of their way to bypass normal procedure and did a unanimous consent vote instead.

Four hours old and this story is already out of date.
