FYI to those who don’t read the article, this is not about what’s happening right now.

    > The ruling found Suffolk County and the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office financially liable for violating the constitutional rights of 674 people who remained jailed even after posting bail or resolving their criminal cases.

Folks. This is taxpayer money being handed out because the GOP are out of control. Throw this on the national debt and watch them print & borrow more money, which hurts everyone.

  5. Can I be thrown to the ground and ruffed up and thrown into a detention center for no reason? I could use some cash

The ice agents should be liable. Same way cops should be liable when they fuck up. Tired of this shit.

What will be important is if the ICE agents and the DHS leadership become personally liable for violations of law and civil rights.

Good. I want all my tax dollars going to setting this as right as possible, including dispositioning ICE agents and their collaborators.

  9. They deserve more than $100 million for the trauma they’ve gone through and also shame on the administration for wasting so much money on resources to catch innocent people and then pay out lawsuits on the backend. “MAGA” my ass

  10. Imagine the lawsuits in a couple of years for the illegally detained citizens kept in inhumane conditions without any charges for sometimes months.
