The Justice Department acknowledged Wednesday that the grand jury that indicted former FBI Director James Comey was never shown the final version of the charges. Prosecutors revealed the lapse under questioning by the judge overseeing the case. Comey’s attorneys argued the omission warrants dismissing the indictment. The judge did not immediately rule.

  2. Whoa. What was signed by the foreperson? They probably attached the previous signature page to a new indictment. You go to jail for that.

  3. This case is going to get shitcanned fast. Bondi’s fucking clown DOJ wanted so badly to effectuate Trump’s orders into actual charges that they sidelined the career prosecutors who told them, “no, there’s nothing here to work with” and then strung the grand jury along with an incomplete indictment.

  4. The judge should call Pam Bondi along with the prosecutor and sanction them all with large fines

  5. What. The. Fuck. If that’s true, then describing the DOJ’s actions as “misconduct” to paraphrase the judge in this case, is a *dramatic* understatement. This proper fuck your life up criminal for everyone involved in the false indictment.

  6. In other words, the US Department of Justice is no longer a credible source of information.

Any and all department proceedings under this administration need to be independently reviewed, and no material released by the DOJ under the Epstein scandal should be treated as factual.

Share the news. Your government is 100% going to lie to prosecute who it wants. The proof already exists.

And tried to cover it up by withholding evidence. Disbarment should be the minimal consequence.

  8. What!!!! So she basically falsified the indictment returned in court. In normal times she would be disbarred and prosecuted for knowingly making a brazen and blatantly false representation to a court and for falsely charging an innocent person with a federal crime without probable cause!

  9. Its moments like this that makes me realize if they mess with the Epstein Files they will get caught.

  10. “Was that wrong? Should I not have done that? I tell you I gotta plead ignorance on this thing because if anyone had said anything to me at all when I first started here that that sort of thing was frowned upon…”

  11. I haven’t been following the case very closely. Did the DOJ ever lie about this very thing to the judge or defense previously?

  12. This will be interesting to see how it pans out to gage how F*%$@d our legal system has become.

  13. Good enough for Trump-level government work … “The Justice Department acknowledged Wednesday that the grand jury that indicted former FBI Director James Comey was **~~never~~** shown the ***concept of a*** final version of the charges.”

Maybe she wants the case thrown out on technicality because they don’t have a solid case or they realize that discovery will make things worse for them

Another case of unqualified individual with mar-a-lago face being given power and failing to do their job properly.

  16. I would like to say this is unbelievable, but considering the DOJ attorney said “you can vote to indict now, we have better evidence we’ll show at trial” nothing shady or illegal is off the table to consider as an option.

  17. Bondi and Halligan we know are spineless and willing to do whatever Trump demands but what about the lawyer who stood up in court and made those statements today? He should have resigned immediately after the hearing having befouled himself like that. They are all banking on MAGA forever to keep themselves employed at best and out of prison if it all comes crashing down.

  18. The whole point of Federal juries is to protect us from a King. This is outrageous. It breaks the fundamental reason to have them.

  19. whydoyouonlylie on

What the hell did the Grand Jury agree to prosecute him for if they were never shown what the government wanted to prosecute him for? Are they actually going to claim there was just blanket approval to prosecute him for whatever the hell they wanted?

And imagine going up as a witness about whether the **whole** Grand Jury was told what the indictment was and your answer to the question of whether just the foreman knew was ‘there was 1 other person there too’. Like fuck me that’s egregiouspy dishonest.

  20. I read parts of this to my attorney husband and he audibly gasped then asked to see the write up. He didn’t believe me! Sounds like a pretty big fuckup!
